The Bronx Tourism Council extends its heartfelt condolences on the passing of Vincent Pastore (1946–2026), a former Bronx Walk of Fame honoree whose talent, authenticity, and Bronx pride left a lasting impact on the entertainment industry and audiences around the world. Born and raised in the Bronx, Vincent Pastore became a beloved actor best known for his iconic portrayal of Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero in The Sopranos, a role that cemented his place in television history. Throughout his decades-long career, he brought memorable characters to life across film and television while proudly representing his hometown wherever he went. We honor his remarkable life, his many contributions to the arts, and the legacy he leaves behind as one of the Bronx’s celebrated cultural figures. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.
