Weddings are life-changing events. A bride and groom stand infront of loved ones and exchange their life long vows to each other. Who knew that when the DiSalvo family attended a wedding in the Finger Lakes, New York that they would be making a life long vow as well. A vow to support local vineyards. Alicia DiSalvo and her two sons, Jesse & Nick hailing from Long Island made that fateful trip to t

he Finger Lakes back in 2011. After touring some of the region and tasting the local wines, the DiSalvo's were immediately blown away by the quality of the wine that were being produced in their backyard. They returned to their residence in Manhattan and searched out the local wines figuring it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to find New York wines in New York. To much of their surprise, they had a difficult time finding local product and just like that, a whole lot of light bulbs went on. After doing some homework and researching the field, the family decided to take a leap of faith and form DiSalvo & Sons Distribution LLC. In a business where large distributors have been the only option, DiSalvo & Sons is the alternative. With beliefs in developing strong and lasting personal relationships, they can be viewed as indispensable business partners rather than just another supplier. DiSalvo & Sons looks to differ themselves by practicing individualism. Which means being available to clients face to face, paying closer attention to their needs, and creating marketing strategies that are individual for each client’s product. Quality of service is paramount, which enables the company to cater to their client’s wants and needs. DiSalvo Distribution LLC achieves this by consistently exceeding customer expectations by focusing on superior and unique customer service experiences unlike any other distribution company.

General information

The history of NY wine dates back to the 1800’s when there were 4 wineries, all of which still exist today. There has been little growth in the industry before 1979. Start-up’s in the 70’s were 13 jumping to 40 in the 80’s. Between 1980 and 2000 the industry exploded with 127 NYS wineries. Today there are 243. The organized wine trails have had significant growth, but the largest overall growth has been seen in wide spread locations, not associated with cooperative vineyards. The wine trails are responsible for nearly 5 million tourists visits in 2008, increasing revenue to rural economies. The wine industry is a value-added product which benefits, agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, transportation and other parts of our economy. Wine is also the only agricultural product generating excise and sales tax for state and local economies. The industry illustrates an upward spiral in growth. Although the demand for New York State wine has been insignificant in the years prior to 2000, the numbers and surveys done in 2008 (surveys done every four years) indicate an explosion in the industry. The wineries have doubled, production has increased, and finally New York State is taking its place as the third largest producer of wine in North America. Our industry today is a $36.7 billion business, which includes grapes, grape juice and wine, all of which contributes the economy . It is believed that that number is conservative given that tourism and sales had a modest increase in 2009 – this in spite of a recession. All of this has helped NYS to be ranked the 3rd largest in North America. Company Goals and Objectives: • Consistently exceed our customer’s expectations by focusing on superior and unique service like no other distribution company. • Develop strong personal relationships so we will be viewed as indispensable business partner rather than another supplier. • To create and operate a successful company that will distribute New York fine wines within our home state. • Personally provide superior service and attention to accommodate the New York State vineyards as well as the retailers. • Bridge communication and relations between the growers and retailers by making the under marketed product more readily available in the metropolitan area. • Raise awareness and recognition of quality of wines locally, nationally and in the world wine community.
