Welcome to the tour guide team, Devlyn!! 🌈

Devlyn showed up ready and excited to lead tours this week, wearing a literal former coat of Sylvia Rivera’s and a vintage OG Randy Wicker button of Marsha P. Johnson from her funeral. If that doesn’t say, “I’m ready to give q***r tours!” then what does?? 🌟

Devlyn (they) is the producer & host of the podcast ‘Queer Serial: LGBTQ+ History Before Stonewall.’ They are a GLAAD-nominated journalist having covered q***r topics for the Chicago Reader and other publications, and currently a volunteer with the LGBT Center National History Archive. Outside of their q***r history projects, they spend most of their time at the theater or enjoying all things Judy Garland. 👠

Starting this month, Christopher Street Tours is officially introducing our ✨new and improved✨ Village Pride LGBTQ+ History Walking Tour! This updated tour still covers all of the iconic sites of NYC’s Greenwich Village, now featuring even more voices, hidden histories, and moments of resistance. 🗣️

Updated stories include those of the Gay Liberation Front and their radical activism, how Alvin Baltrop’s photography captured moments in time on the Piers, Stormé DeLarverie’s role as “Guardian of the Lesbians,” the origins of the very first Pride March, and one of the earliest post-Stonewall community centers for organization and liberation.

It was a pleasure chatting with the Business Gay podcast, especially about the powerful intersection of entrepreneurship and activism.

This past week, we gave tours to welcoming families, a group from the TripCon tour conference, and an LGBTQ+ employee resource group. We even led a special “after dark” tour 😉 where we got to see the rainbow lights of Christopher Park!

Being recognized as a leader in the Village for my work with Christopher Street Tours is an incredible honor, and I’m deeply grateful for the chance to continue sharing stories of our LGBTQ+ ancestors who paved the way for us. It’s especially meaningful to be named alongside so many inspiring leaders in the Village who are all leading such impactful initiatives!

Earlier this month, we had the honor of hosting a powerful conversation and book signing with author and activist Raquel Willis, who inspired us with her insights on intersectionality, liberation, and the ongoing fight for justice. It was so meaningful to connect with and learn from such a trailblazer in the movement. 🏳️‍⚧️
