5 Totally Underrated Travel Essentials ✈️

Sunglasses: You never know when you might run into someone you just don’t want to see. Or how bright it can get out on an airfield or while walking a resort. Sunglasses are perfect for sunrises and sunsets and a perfect fashion accessory for the rest of the day.

A Packable Backpack Or Duffel: You never know when you’ll have a bag mishap or want to bring home souvenirs that won’t fit in your luggage. A packable bag is a nice thing to have, just in case.

A Packable Jacket: Depending on where you’re going, this is a good thing to have in your arsenal as a contingency plan.

A Portable Charger + Backup Cords: Depending on where you’re going, finding new chargers may or may not be easy. I like to bring a backup phone charger and a portable charger just in case.

Sanitary Wipes: It’s never a bad idea to have these in your back pocket when you need them. Whether it’s for keeping things fresh, or in case you’re somewhere that doesn’t have TP readily available. (Yes, there are countries that don’t typically offer TP)

Making sure my clients leave for their travels with the right essentials in their travel bags is just one of the things I do as a travel advisor.

Ask me how I can help you with your next trip!

A river cruise is one of the best ways to explore inland Europe, visiting cities, towns and villages that traditional big ships usually can’t access, and with ease. Where else can you take in views of the lush vineyards of Portugal’s Douro Valley or the bright buildings on the outskirts of Venice?

You’ll get to sail from country to country without navigating customs and airport terminals — and since everything is all-inclusive there’s no need to worry arranging dinner plans or booking sightseeing tours.

Here at Travel by Sarah Eileen, I like to serve up itineraries for my clients that are customized just for them with resorts I know will deliver on their travel wishlist and work with their travel style.

It’s my top priority to make sure every client’s vacation time counts and that they come home truly satisfied with the experience they had while away.

ESPECIALLY when that trip is in the dead of winter and it’s their only opportunity to escape the cold (Has anyone figured out unlimited PTO yet?).

I love planning! If you have any questions about how I can help you plan your travels, send me a DM or click the link in my bio to schedule your free travel consultation.

If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding, you aren’t alone! Destination weddings are getting more and more popular, because what could be more romantic than jetting off to a far-flung destination, with the love of your life, your family and closest friends to say I do?

But if you’re staring down your to-do list wondering how you’ll get all of your loved ones on a plane and in one location, ditch the list, and the planning and leave the work up to me instead. I can help with choosing your destination, making travel arrangements for everyone in your group, and getting you in touch with the on-site staff or the right outside vendors to make your wedding day one your friends and family will be raving about for decades.

I truly believe in gifting experiences over presents.

Let’s be honest, gifting someone travel is a BIG deal. If you’re thinking about putting a trip under the tree this year, but you’re not sure where to start, I can help.

Here are 3 things to consider to make sure it goes off without a hitch.

Tip #1 - Keep it open-ended. Unless you’re positive someone can depart on the exact dates you decide, it’s better to keep things flexible.

Tip #2 - Instead of pre-booking, gift a token that represents the trip, then plan the details with the person you’re gifting & your chosen travel advisor. I recommend wrapping up a guidebook or a travel brochure with a card explaining what you’ll include with the trip. Once you’ve decided on the price point, dates, and destination together, you can work with a travel advisor to get the trip booked once you’ve worked the details out with the person you’re gifting.

Tip #3 - Make them a part of the process. If you’re thinking of surprising your children with a trip, consider picking the destination but allowing them to pick an experience so they can be a part of planning the itinerary, so they feel like part of the process. The anticipation of traveling is part of the fun, after all!

And there you have it. With those three tips, you’re well on your way to gifting that special someone with travel this Holiday season.

Happy Holidays!

Confession: I always pack for a trip the night before or in the morning a few hours before it’s time to go to the airport. Some have said this habit makes me way too reckless but I’m fully embracing it because the world needs more spontaneity. I can’t be the only one, so tell me what type of packer are you?
