How to do the Feast of San Gennaro 🇮🇹🍗

Come hungry. Grab a giant turkey leg, get the zeppoles, wander Mulberry Street, and don’t forget the reason this whole festival exists — stop and see the statue of San Gennaro.

This is the 100th Feast of San Gennaro, and it’s one of those NYC experiences you have to do at least once.

I spend a lot of my life telling people the story of 9/11 and Lower Manhattan. Yesterday was different.

On the 25th anniversary of September 11, I was at the memorial for the reading of the names, surrounded by families, first responders, New Yorkers, our mayors, and visitors from around the world.

I had the honor of meeting the brother of Battalion chief Orio Palmer (battalion 7) the moment I entered the memorial. Later, while giving a tour, I met Peter Gancis grandchildren and briefly his son battalion chief Christopher Ganci. Peter must be smiling from heaven seeing his grandchildren grow up to be so beautiful.

Later, I watched the Tribute in Light rise over the city.

Twenty-five years later, people are still coming here to remember. Always Remember. God Bless America.

The rebuilt WTC and it's neighbors!

10 buildings were destroyed on 9/11. 7 of them have been rebuilt, and 2 more will be.

Look around and you'll find buildings that survived September 11, buildings that were badly damaged, and an entire neighborhood that tells pieces of the story most visitors walk right past.
