Embracing Thanksgiving's True History: A Journey of Understanding! Let's engage in a positive dialogue to foster a more inclusive and accurate Thanksgiving narrative—one that honors the Indigenous perspective and their resilient spirit. In this Smithsonian article, historian David Silverman invites us to reconsider the Thanksgiving narrative by unveiling the challenges faced by the Wampanoag people after the first Thanksgiving, bringing attention to the strength in their ongoing pursuit of recognition and sovereignty. We are grateful for the contributions of indigenous people to our society.

🇺🇸🤝 This Veterans Day, we pay tribute to all who have served in the U.S. military, both past and present. 🇺🇸🎖️ Did you know that some of the heroes of D-Day were African-American soldiers? Around 2,000 African-American troops played a crucial role in the historic Normandy landings on June 6, 1944, as highlighted in the NBC News article below 🏖️🦅 They not only faced enemy fire but also the racism and segregation of their own country. Many served in non-combat roles, like truck drivers, engineers, and medics, while some, like the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion, fought on the front lines, being the only black combat unit to land on Omaha Beach. 🌊💪 Let's remember and celebrate their bravery and sacrifice this Veterans Day, ensuring that their stories are never overlooked or forgotten. 🙏🎗️
