Do you think the word GOY is offensive? Pearl, a Hasidic woman, explains the word goy. It is the term often used by Jews to describe non-Jews. The word goy is Hebrew for nations. Lately, the conspiracy theory world has exploded into mainstream media with messages about Jews having some kind of code word goy. In my own childhood, I can share that I associated goy with someone scary, was often afraid of non-Jews because of our inherited holocaust and Eastern European trauma. It’s quite upsetting to see the term goy he twisted into some kind of massive conspiracy in the contemporary climate. We live in times in which too many are just sowing hatred for clicks. Personally, I’ve stopped using the word, because of how much it’s been associated with this ugly antisemitic underbelly.
