Most people are squeezing vacation days into a calendar right now, hoping their boss approves.
We just... stopped asking.

My husband and I both have full-time jobs. We also run a side thing that brings in $10-20K a month. Takes us maybe 10 hours a week.

What’s the side thing? We help people book luxury cruises they’re already planning to take. 🚢

They call us. We talk. They book. The cruise line pays us commission, usually around $2,000 per booking.

The calls I take here pay the same as the calls I take from my couch in New York. The work doesn’t care where I’m sitting. ✈️

People think building freedom means quitting your job and going all-in on something risky.

Sometimes it just means finding income that doesn’t depend on you being in a specific chair at a specific time.

I hear this constantly: “I want to be a travel agent but I can’t sell.”
Let me tell you what changed everything for me.
You’re not selling. You’re helping someone make a decision they already want to make.
Someone filled out a form saying “I want to book a luxury cruise.”
They came to YOU. They raised their hand. They’re already interested.
Your job isn’t to convince them cruises are amazing. They already know that.
Your job is to ask: → Where do you want to go? → Who’s traveling with you? → What’s your budget? → What matters most on this trip?
Then match them with the right option.
That’s not sales. That’s guidance.
I came from construction management. Zero sales experience. The idea of “selling” terrified me.
But after 20-30 calls, I realized: These aren’t sales calls. They’re conversations with people who want help.
Nobody’s mad you called. They literally asked for this.
I still don’t think I’m good at “sales.” But I’ve had multiple $20,000 months.
Because I’m not selling. I’m helping.

The travel agent pay gap is insane.
Same job. Same effort. 50x difference in income.
Route 1: → Book waterpark activity: 2 hours, $40 commission

→ Book hotel: 1 hour, $20 commission

→ Book Broadway tickets: 1 hour, $15 commission
You need 250 of these to make $10K.

OR…….

Route 2: → Book luxury cruise: 1 call + follow-ups, $2,000 commission
You need 5 of these to make $10K.
Most travel agents stay busy and broke chasing $10-$40 commissions.

I wasted 6 months doing this before I figured it out.
Now I only book luxury cruises. $2,000 average per booking.

5 bookings = $10,000/month. 10 bookings = $20,000/month.
And I’m doing this while working full-time with 3 kids.
The difference?

Focusing on ONE high-commission niche instead of booking everything for everyone.
