In an abandoned theater on the outskirts of town, an experiment is being conducted—one which extracts dreams. But if this insane enterprise works, what dreams may come? Mad scientists, monstrous killers, tyrannical royalty, government witches and hipster occultists (and not one damn vampire or zombie) explode forth in this crazed horror anthology that incorporates song, dance, puppetry, aerial, magic and more to build an out of body theatrical experience. DEAD DREAM MACHINE, written by Jake Thomas and directed by Rachel Klein, stars various luminaries from the alternative stages of New York City, including Darlinda Just Darlinda, “Mastermind of Bizarre Extravaganza”, as The Queen/The Domestic Goddess, Arden Leigh, author of the book The New Rules Of Attraction, as Woman/Audrey, Michael Cavadias, performance artist, as Marcus, Malia Scharf, director of the upcoming documentary "Kenny Scharf, More, Newer, Nower, Better, Funner", as O'Connor, Eric Schmalenberger from Blunderland and Banzi!!!, as the Impresario, the Great Dubini, a Ripley’s Believe it or Not magician as O'Bannon/Man, and more have united to create the ultimate colorful and wicked theatrical horror experience, which through a rich narrative taps into different fears that resonate in all of us. The cast is rounded out by Aurora Black, ("The Prima Ballerina of Burlesque") as the Nightmare Dancer, Chris Cipriano as Drew/Peter/Nameless/Humphrey/the Vizier, Elena Delgado (actress, aerialist, House of Yes) as Angelica, Brian Ferree (aerialist) as Will/Ed/Humphrey, Jillaine Gill as Laura/the Dreamer, Nicki Miller as Jackson/Aerial Dancer, Robyn Nielsen as Cathleen/Dancer, Amanda Peck (Peoples Improv Theater) as Janet/Servant Girl, Michael Porshe (RKP Ensemble) as The Master Story Teller/Demon Bartender, David F. Slone, Esq. (the Love Show) as EmCee/Bouncer and Charlie Wilson as Anthony/Lawrence. The production, produced by Eric Schmalenberger and Jake Thomas, features scenic design by Evan Collier with fabrication by Arch Production and Design, costume and puppet design by Elena Delgado and Juanita Cardenas, and lighting design by Ben Kato. Sean Gill is the video art director, the associate director and the sound designer and Marina Steinberg is the stage manager. Marketing and PR by Katie Rosin/Kampfire PR

Hello, you beautiful dreamers!

Thank you for helping us make THE DEAD DREAM MACHINE a raging success! It's been a week since closing night and we've only just begun to recuperate! Multiple sold out shows, incredible guest stars, lots of wonderful word of mouth and such a lovely and supportive audience, we absolutely cannot thank you all enough!

We've heard from a number of you that you'd like to hear more about the show and where some of our many talented cast and crew are going next, and so we wanted to write this follow-up. There has been some murmurs about the future life of THE DEAD DREAM MACHINE (not dead yet!), so if you'd like to continue being alerted about the show's future, please message us with your email and we will put you on our mailing list. I promise, no inbox flooding, no giving out your info. I only write about monsters, I'm not one in real life.

If you want to show further support for our strange little creation, the best thing you can do is vote for us in the Innovative Theater Awards, which you can do here:

Speaking of glorious things on the horizon, our brilliant director Rachel Klein is directing CARRIE: BLOOD, FIRE & BALLET with THE LOVE SHOW, which will include a number of THE DEAD DREAM MACHINE cast members and be performed at La Luz! Get your tickets now!

Also, on November 16th THE DEAD DREAM MACHINE producer and performer Eric Schmalenberger will be producing another one of his incredible art extravaganzas BANZAI!!! at The Red Lotus Room.

As for myself, now that the show has wrapped I'll be turning my attention back to my writing and my website, www.ragingsquidink.com.

Again, we can't thank you all enough for being such a generous, engaging and thoughtful audience. Thank you for making all of our dead little dreams come true.

VIVA LA DEAD DREAM!
