I recently returned home from a week full of pristine wilderness, snow-capped mountains, and frozen waterfalls. Yes, I’m talking about Banff National Park.

After visiting Banff in the summer a few years back I was sure I’d be missing the glimmering turquoise lakes and brilliant hiking opportunities.

BUT Banff in winter completely blew all my expectations out of the water. To be completely honest, I’m having a hard time coming up with adequate adjectives to describe the place.

Pristine, rugged, sparkling, icy, wild; all that and more. Can you tell I’m now low-key obsessed with the place?

Angels Landing tested me in more ways than one. Not only was it a slight challenge physically (ok, let’s be real, I was dying), but even more so, my mentality and sheer fear of falling off the mountain. In all honesty, one wrong step and you’re a goner.

Let’s just say good thing the views looked like this. I definitely deserved my cookies on the descent back down. 😋

Definitely one of my hardest hikes to date, but one I’d gladly do again (with better preparation and actually a water bottle in tow).

So sad to leave Montreal today! It's been a spectacular few days exploring the city!

A few of my top recommendations: stay at Hôtel Le Germain Montréal, see 360 degree views at Au Sommet Place Ville Marie, eat your heart out at Marché Jean-Talon and on a Mile End Food Tour with Local Montréal Tours, and don't miss out on AURA, the brilliant light show at the Basilica Notre Dame.

Now that the PCH is unfortunately partially closed after the massive landslide (I'm absolutely devastated!), why not go north of San Francisco to Russian River instead?! Makes for the perfect weekend getaway from the Bay Area! 🌊 🦀 🌲🍦

We recently visited and had a wonderful time, ice cream and pie and biscuits included! And wine, lots of wine! 🍷
