It's VeryVermeer in New York these days. "Vermeer's Love Letters," three portraits of women and their maids sending, receiving and writing intimate missives, opens at the new Frick Museum. The flow of energy between the three -- seen together for the first time -- has to be experienced to be believed. In addition to one of the 3 Frick Vermeers, there's one on loan from the National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin and Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum. Admire their grace thru Aug.31, 2025 then head uptown to The Met to savor their 5 Vermeers.

We are spending Juneteenth with Pres. Roosevelt at the and home in Hyde Park.

I asked Google if Roosevelt was considered a racist and found many conflicting opinions that came down to considering him "average" for his day and era (1930s).

Then I found this wonderful quote from Anonymous on Reddit: "The president is not a king, they cannot rule through fiat, and, if they want to get anything done, they have to make compromises and they have to work within the system that already exists: For better or worse, that is exactly what a democratically-responsible leader looks like."
