In more travel news, airport security lines are stretching to 3+ hours, and that's for domestic travel!

Transportation Security Administration - TSA workers who do airport screenings and assist passengers through security have been working without pay since last week. Many are calling in sick so they can earn cash as gig workers.

We have no problem withholding funds from Department of Homeland Security until they fix the ICE nightmare, but there's no reason that DHS security employees, funded by your ticket fees, shouldn't be paid.

Here's a worthwhile petititon to remove Air Traffic Controllers and TSA workers from the stranglehold of partisan politics and maintain their salaries through any government shutdown.

If you're on your way home after a Presidents Day break, note that threats to suspend Global Entry and TSA Precheck services at many airports continue, according to Federal whim. Both programs are part of the DHS and therefore subject to congressional funding, even though your application fees cover all the costs of running them. * Patience is still a virtue. *
