Happy Sinterklaas!! (Saint Nicholas Day)

St. Nick was the patron saint of New Amsterdam and his day (December 6th) was the most festive holiday of the season. The generous saint would fill children's shoes with gifts and treats. During soggy weather, he filled their stockings hung on the mantle.
