Big News from Jamaica 🇯🇲 💚
We are reaching out to personally share an important update regarding three iconic Jamaica resorts: Sandals South Coast, Sandals Montego Bay, and Sandals Royal Caribbean.
Following Hurricane Melissa last fall, the initial plan was to complete the necessary repairs and welcome guests back as quickly as possible. As the work progressed, however, it became clear that this moment presented a rare opportunity, one that simply doesn’t come often in hospitality. With these resorts temporarily closed, Sandals will go beyond restoration and take the opportunity to fully reimagine these properties all at once.
Sandals has announced the exciting decision to invest $200 million to transform these resorts as part of the next chapter of the Sandals 2.0 experience. This investment will introduce elevated suites, beautifully redesigned pools, innovative dining concepts, refreshed public spaces, and thoughtful enhancements throughout the guest journey. It reflects the long-term commitment to Jamaica, to guests, and importantly, to you, our travel advisor partners who can continue to sell Sandals Resorts with confidence.
The updated reopening dates will be:
• Sandals South Coast: November 18, 2026
• Sandals Montego Bay: December 18, 2026
• Sandals Royal Caribbean: December 18, 2026
All other resorts in Jamaica continue to operate and welcome guests, including Sandals Royal Plantation, Sandals Ochi, Sandals Dunn’s River, Sandals Negril, and Beaches Negril, ensuring guests can continue to experience the beauty of Jamaica while this exciting new chapter unfolds.
