Before setting your sights on Disney, let’s make sure it’s the right fit for you. There are many aspects that are similar across cruise lines, but some, like Disney Cruise Line, march to the beat of their own drummer. What makes Disney different can, at first glance, appear to be a negative to those with other cruise line experience. But here’s why they are actually a “plus” for many.
✨Food: With other cruise lines, the buffet is open for dinner in case you decide to skip the main dining room. Not with Disney. Their buffet closes after lunchtime. BUT they have a unique rotational dining system where you eat in 3 different restaurants during your sailing with your same dining team each night. Servers rotate with you so they get yo know your family’s needs!
✨Drinks: There are no drink packages with Disney aside from some in-room gifts and a beer discount card. But soft drinks are FREE! Soda packages come with a high price tag on other cruise lines.
✨Activities: If you enjoy some nightly gambling on your cruises, I’m sorry to tell you that Disney doesn’t have casinos, but Bingo is a BIG deal. There will be silly antics by the crew and lots of entertainment while you try to hit the big jackpot.
✨Tiered booking window for onboard activities and that’s a benefit to loyal guests to have access to port excursions, cabanas, etc. earlier.
Did any of these surprise you? Are any a non-negotiable?
