Winter has a way of quieting everything down.

The woods thin out. The air gets sharper. Sounds carry a little farther.
This is when the house feels extra lived-in — fires going, blankets everywhere, coffee staying hot a little longer than usual.

Linville Falls – Just 20 Minutes Away

You do not come to the mountains just to stay inside, even if the cabin makes that tempting. Linville Falls is a short and beautiful drive from Hawk’s Nest, with multiple trails and overlooks that feel like movie scenes.

Hike in the morning, fire pit at night. That is a pretty solid day.
