Take in all the sights and sounds of the biggest nautical holiday display in existence! The harbor lights up in a cozy blur of color from eighty to over one hundred and twenty vessels decked out with their crew's creativity and all the lights they could get their hands on, in addition to the hundreds of homes each attempting to outdo all the others in competition for awards in the "Holiday Ring of Lights" festival!

Aboard our ship you will be warmed by our "Pirate Barrel" fire-pit, and enjoy complimentary holiday snacks and beverages, while listening to "Christmas Shanties", or your choice of holiday melodies! Above the deck we will have rigged up our sail plan out of rope and string lights rather than our traditional line and canvas which has won us the "Best Sailboat" award many a time!

We generally board at 5:30pm, so we are able to cast off and line up before the parade begins, and return to the dock after the parade ends around 9:30/10:00pm, though if needs be we can retire early if your group decides they would like to.

You are welcome to bring your own food and drink aboard, and are advised to dress warmly, we will also have blankets available for your use.

Ahoy Sailors!

Are you a USCG licensed captain with experience sailing aboard traditional vessels? Looking for a summer sailing gig with the potential to become long-term employment?

Lively Schooner is looking for part-time/seasonal captain(s) to join our team in Newport Beach, California! After a short (paid) trial period working with supervision you'll be sailing our flagship, Lively, on 3-Hour Tours of Newport Harbor. You may also be invited to work occasionally as a deckhand aboard Tall Ship Mayflower in Newport Beach and/or Catalina Island, if that appeals to you.

Pay is based on demonstrated capability. Hours are variable dependent on passenger bookings, weather conditions, and your own availability. We're especially looking for individuals who can commit to weekend availability more often than not, but are otherwise flexible. We hope to find the perfect addition(s) to our crew who can work into regular summer employment and potentially pick up additional charters during the off-season as opportunities arise.
