Herring caught this morning in the marina and lots of sea lion activity in the bay! It's starting!

It's that time of year that we get about 15 calls a day asking if the herring are in yet, so here's our report so far:

We've seen a trickle of herring come through the marina, but not much. The most activity has been a big school near the International Terminal of small, maybe 3-4 inch fish in the last couple of days.

There may be some bigger ones mixed in, but no significant quantity reported.

TLDR: The main spawning schools have yet to come in. Could be any time between now and mid/end of March.
