Join us and our friends at Bike Newport, RI for “From Revolution to Resiliency: The Bike Tour.”🚲
This guided bike tour will explore resiliency in Newport—we’ll visit historic sites under the care of the Newport Restoration Foundation in the Point and Historic Hill neighborhoods and see resiliency work in action, including how NRF and the City of Newport are planning for a more resilient future.
This tour is a part of our Keeping History Above Water 10th anniversary programming. These programs are collaborative forums to proactively identify climate change solutions for the preservation of cultural heritage.
Coastal inundation—which refers to sea level rise, storm surge, abnormally high tides, and persistent onshore winds and waves—is a threat to the built and cultural heritage of coastal communities across the globe. The goal of Keeping History Above Water’s community-focused outreach is to develop and strengthen relationships among communities, partners, and experts in relevant fields.
