Hi, I'm Megan, the face behind Heirloom Adventures.

It's been a minute since I introduced myself, so I wanted to pop in and say hello.

Most days you'll find me with a coffee, my laptop, and more tabs open than I'd like to admit, planning trips for families who want to travel without the overwhelm.

Travel has been my passion since the day I stepped on my first plane. I've been known to say, "If only I'd known this was a job, I would have started sooner."

This is the part most families miss. Not because they don't love their kids, but because they spend the trip with one eye on the confirmation emails and the other on a map they downloaded at 11pm the night before.

Ask your kids in October what they remember about this summer's trip, and they will not say the hotel check-in. ✈

They will say the taste of the lemon gelato that dripped down their wrist in a piazza. The stray cat that followed them three blocks. The way the light hit the water that one afternoon when nobody was rushing anywhere.

Those are the moments that become heirlooms. And the strange truth about them is that they only happen when the noise around them disappears. When no one is squinting at a confirmation email or wondering if the driver is really coming or trying to figure out where lunch is.

Everyone tells you to avoid Rome in July. Skip Paris in August. Stay away from the Amalfi Coast when the rest of the world shows up.

But here is what years of sending families to these places has taught us: the crowds were never the problem. The right guide changes everything about what a crowded place feels like.

Picture the Vatican on a packed summer morning. Now picture your family walking through a side entrance before the lines form, with someone who knows exactly where to stand so a seven-year-old gasps instead of squirms. Picture the Louvre not as an endless hall of paintings, but as a treasure hunt your kids beg to keep playing. Because “we should plan something” has been sitting in the group chat since January, and honestly, somebody has to make it real.

I look for three things when I’m building a Europe summer trip for friends, design that makes the hotel part of the experience, cities with enough going on that nobody gets bored, and bars or terraces where one pre-dinner drink turns into a very long evening.
