Get closer than ever to the American Falls. ๐
A new way to experience the Falls has officially opened in ! The new Cataract Stairs & Overlook in Niagara Falls State Park, USA expand on the experience formerly known as the Crowโs Nest, bringing visitors into the Niagara Gorge for an incredibly close-up view of the American Falls.
Hereโs what to know before you go:
โฌ๏ธ 7โ9 a.m.: The stairs are open for visitors to walk down from Prospect Point to the lower gorge.
โฌ๏ธ After 9 a.m., while Maid of the Mist is operating: The stairs become up-only. Visitors can take the Observation Tower elevators down to the lower gorge ($1.25), experience the Falls from below and/or ride Maid of the Mist ($30.25), then take the Cataract Stairs back up to Prospect Point.
๐ After Maid of the Mist closes for the season: The stairs will be open for both up and down access, weather permitting, before winter conditions require a seasonal closure.
The stairs and overlook are free and open to the public. However, access to the lower gorge via the Observation Tower elevators requires an Observation Deck ticket ($1.25) or Maid of the Mist ticket ($30.25) while those attractions are operating.
