We had an amazing time sailing on Navigator of the Seas this month with my sister and her family! It was so much fun watching our toddlers become such great friends and experience new places together at such a young age. (Swipe for some adorable goodbye photos from yesterday!)

Hannah and I have already booked our next two adventures with Royal Caribbean:

🚢 August 22 – 8 nights aboard Allure of the Seas to the Eastern Caribbean, including a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay.

🚢 October 8 – 9 nights aboard Freedom of the Seas to the Southern Caribbean.

If you’ve ever thought about taking a cruise, we’d love to have you join us! Cruising is always more fun with friends, and as a travel advisor, I can help you find great deals, answer questions, and share tips to help you make the most of your vacation.

Where should we sail next? 🌴☀️⚓

Days 7-8 were our sea days as we sailed back toward LA, and honestly they were pretty low-key. Not much on the itinerary besides good meals, swimming, and exploring more of the ship. Elizabeth and Bristol really enjoyed the Ice Skating Show!

On our last day I walked about 3 miles around the promenade with Calvin and Malachi while Hannah and Lizzy relaxed in the hot tub and Victoria and Joey caught a comedy show. The boys absolutely loved waving at everyone we passed and watching Bluey along the way. Sometimes the slower days end up being some of the best ones.

Now it’s time to pack up and drive to Reno as we are spending a few days at my sisters home in NV!

Days 5–6 of our trip update:

Day 5 – Cabo San Lucas

Hannah and I had never been to Cabo before, and we had absolutely no excursion planned... but no problem.

We tendered over to port, and the boat pilot even let our kiddos take turns “driving” the boat. Once we got off, we met a guy who introduced himself as “Mexican Danny DeVito” (his words, not ours 😂). He somehow managed to squeeze Hannah, Victoria, me, and three of our four toddlers onto his tiny boat. He gave us a tour of all the nearby sights and dropped us off at a beach for a couple hours where the kids climbed rocks, played in the sand, and wore themselves out.

No excursion? No problem. Plus, it was WAY cheaper than booking through the ship.

Day 6 – Mazatlán

Again, no excursion planned... but that wasn't stopping us.

We loaded all four kiddos into the giant wagon and walked 3 miles along the Malecón to the aquarium. The boardwalk was mostly quiet, but the ocean breeze made the heat a lot more manageable.

At the aquarium the kids had a blast—running around searching for the biggest fish, feeding stingrays, touching sea urchins, and exploring everything they could find.

For the trip back we hitched a ride in the back of a pickup truck to the port because... when in Mexico, I guess? 😂

After naps and dinner, Hannah took Elizabeth back to the hot tub while I stayed with Calvin again. Hannah is loving that Elizabeth is potty trained now and can join her for all the swimming fun.

One thing we've learned: naps are absolutely non-negotiable. Both days they ran into dinner time, but if you're traveling with toddlers, you do NOT skip the naps.

Days 3 and 4 on our cruise have been a blast. Day 3 started early in Ensenada with coffees for Hannah and I, (still adjusting to the time change).

Right by where we docked is a neat formation of man made stones I’d never seen before.

Once we got off the ship we wandered from the port all the way to the Parque de la Revolución for some park playtime for the kiddos (nothing special but we got in 11k steps, and that’s a lot for Hannah this soon in her recovery). We ate some churros, went wallet/purse shopping, and got some tasty shakes from a street vendor. Ended the day in Ensenada dancing with Elizabeth at the fountains. Back on the ship, naps and dinner went mostly smooth, though Elizabeth decided nursery wasn’t her thing and we had to go rescue her and cancel our plans. Hannah instead took her for some one on one hot tub time with her while I put Calvin to bed and begrudgingly bought WiFi to cure my boredom in the room alone.

Today was all about sea-day chill: pools, naps, dinner, and now a fun show with the kids to wrap it up. Just the right blend of adventure and family time!

Day 1-2 of our LA Family Cruise Adventure. Traveling with toddlers takes a little more planning, but we’ve found having the right systems in place makes all the difference. So far we’ve covered a lot in a short amount of time: flew from Indy to Denver, then Denver to LAX, grabbed an Uber to our hotel near Long Beach, had ramen for lunch (where I spilled an entire bowl on my pants and had to throw them away… no time for laundry 😂), squeezed in some park time for the kids (about 15 minute walk from the hotel), and met up with cousins for dinner because if you’re on the West Coast, In-N-Out is mandatory. The next morning was Chick-fil-A breakfast with family, then off to the port to board the ship. We explored our surprisingly spacious balcony room, fit in some naps, had dinner in the main dining room for the first time with all 4 of the cousin crew, and then the kiddos get their first nursery adventure while the adults sneak away for a comedy show and hot tub time for the wives. So far the wagon, snacks, and pre-downloaded shows are proving their value with toddler travel 😄✈️🚢👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Thanks for all the follows already! ☀️

We’re big believers that having toddlers doesn’t mean vacations stop. It just means you travel with way more snacks and slightly less sanity 😂

Our family cruises a lot, and I started this page to share tips, deals, and honest advice for traveling with little kids 🚢

We’ve done 26 hour drives straight through with the kids and we’ve flown with them too.

Honestly, I still think driving is easier 😅

That said, flying definitely makes more sense for families that don’t have unlimited PTO and can’t stretch trips out.

Parents, settle a debate for me 👀

What’s harder with toddlers?

We have two toddlers… for most that means life slows down, and hinders your travel, for Hannah and I, just the opposite, we just started cruising more! 😂

I’ve gotten way too into figuring out the best ships, rooms, and deals—especially with Royal Caribbean—so I’m turning it into a side thing.

If you’ve got a trip coming up, I’ll help you book it the right way, avoid dumb mistakes, and not overpay.

And it doesn’t cost you anything extra—same price (sometimes better), I just get paid by the cruise line.

Or don’t. I’ll still be on a ship either way.
