You might have heard of Oklahoma HOUSE BILL 2426 and what it means for leisure-based storm chasers who actively chase within Oklahoma state lines. Contrary to recent chatter within the storm chasing community, this bill does not include any regulations against this. Instead, it offers a way for television news media and those involved with educational research teams to purchase a license that grants them the ability to operate as emergency vehicles during severe weather events. Our tour meteorologist, Trey Greenwood of Convective Chronicles, dives into the bill and provides context in a YouTube video linked in the comments.
