Oliver & Company was the very first movie my mom took me to see... it is still one of my favorite Disney movies to this day! Shortly after that, I began my Disney movie collection and my love grew into an obsession. Every aspect of the movies intrigued me – the characters, the plot, the setting… I couldn’t wait until the day I could actually get to Disney World to meet all the characters I loved.
I went to Disney twice as a child and remember having a wonderful time. It wasn’t until I went back for my high school’s senior trip though that the magic of being in Disney really hit me – seeing Cinderella’s Castle for the first time was the best part. To this day, although there are many highlights each trip, walking into Magic Kingdom and seeing the castle is one of my favorite moments and always gives me goosebumps. I was also fortunate enough to get my husband hooked on Disney – he had never been there before he met me, which is funny since he loves Star Wars so much and has a bigger Disney movie collection than I do! He didn’t understand the concept of going as an adult, but one day there and he definitely got it. In fact, he loved it so much that we became DVC members so we can go with our son, Luke (named after Luke Skywalker if you ask him!), as often as we’d like! I love that every trip brings new and exciting experiences – each time I go I find a fun ride that I may not have experienced before, a restaurant with phenomenal food, or meet new people from different places. That’s the best thing about Disney – you could go 100 times and still not see or do everything you want to!
