Iron Arena Powerlifting & Performance

Iron Arena Powerlifting & Performance IA is Hudson County's only training facility equipped to surpass the needs of competitive powerlifte Iron Area Powerlifting & Performance (IA) opened in 2012.

It originally occupied a 3,000 sq. ft. space on the fifth floor of a century-old converted Wonder Bread Factory in Hoboken, New Jersey. A redevelopment plan forced us to relocate in October of 2016. Iron Arena is now located just three miles north of its former location in North Bergen, NJ. We're bigger and better than ever as we now occupy a 5,500 sq. ft space (located directly above New Jersey B

eer Co.) accessible via all major highways and public transportation. IA is Hudson County's only training facility equipped to surpass the needs of competitive powerlifters and performance athletes. Don't let the word "powerlifting" in our name dissuade you. Your personal goals may include diminished body fat, increased muscle mass and definition, enhanced strength, endurance, or an overall aim to maximize general fitness. Regardless of your pursuit -- the squat, bench press, and deadlift are a big part of the fitness equation. Therefore, we cater to anyone from novice to elite, with a sincere commitment to learning proper execution in the barbell lifts. Iron Arena recognizes there is no one-size-fits-all program or methodology. For that reason, we employ a variety of training methods backed by science and evidence-based practice/application from years of personal experience. Your goals matter to us and we'll help implement an optimal training strategy to help you achieve results as efficiently as possible. Iron Arena is an officially recognized USAPL Friendly Gym by USA Powerlifting and is owned and operated by Jason Manenkoff.

"What a bad ass gym. Seriously, the equipment was top tier, looked brand new, I can tell the members and guest respect the equipment, very refreshing to see. I’m from Miami, and at my gym, the powerlifting section is so small, and mistreated. I’ve been to a bunch of cool powerlifting gyms across the state, but I gotta say, I think in my 2.5 years of doing this, it takes the cake! The aesthetic of the gym was amazing, plenty of combo racks, deadlift platforms and more than enough equipment to get accessories in as well. I know what gym I’ll be coming back to when I’m in the area."

All Glory to God. Thank you Lord because without you, I am nothing. Very grateful to come out of another meet healthy.
This meet meant the world to me. Not just because of the numbers, but because of the person I had to become to get to the platform. This prep brought me face to face with who I really am, and more importantly, who I'm meant to be. Through all the setbacks, doubts, and moments of silence, I found clarity in my purpose. I didn't walk away with everything I wanted, but I walked away with everything I needed. The fire, the hunger, and the reminder that there is more inside me. I know I'm capable of more, and I know I will become more.
Grateful for the chance to stand among the best in the country. I don't take that lightly and it's a blessing I'll never overlook. Now it's time to get back to work and return even stronger not just as an athlete, but as the man God has called me to be.

Thanks to my GOAT for being the best coach I could ask for. So grateful to have been working together for three years now. Big thanks to for handling me and keeping my head on my shoulders in the back room. Shoutout to for pushing me every single session and holding me to the standard. Thank you to my family, friends and to the people in my corner at and for the unconditional support.
Goodbye 74kg..hello 83kg

"I’ve been training at Iron Arena for a little over a year, and it’s hands down one of the best gyms I’ve ever been a part of. The environment, the equipment, and most importantly, the people, make this place feel like home. Jason genuinely cares about every lifter who walks through the door, and it shows in how the gym is run. Top-tier equipment, always clean, and constantly improving. Whether you’re a competitive powerlifter or just someone who loves training hard, I couldn’t recommend Iron Arena more."

" I recently had the pleasure of visiting Iron Arena Powerlifting Gym, and I have to say, it was an incredible experience. My friend and I reached out to the owner, Jason, for a day pass, and he was incredibly accommodating, making the process seamless and hassle-free.

When we finally stepped into the gym, it truly felt like gym heaven. The equipment is top-tier, and everything you could need for powerlifting and strength training is available. I was really impressed by the variety and quality of the gear – it’s clear that this place is built with serious lifters in mind.

Big thanks to Jason for making everything so smooth. We’ll definitely be back for another session. Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a serious, well-equipped training space!"

"What an amazing facility with an even better owner! Jason is so responsive, informative and has amazing energy. He encourages everyone, offers so much support and has built an amazing gym culture. Top notch equipment, so many tools to use, so spacious, amazing lighting. The vibes are immaculate and the customer service is on point! Oh and the accessibility + 24 hours!? You cannot go wrong. This is my go to gym when coming back home! As a PT who works in a private performance facility in South Florida, this gym is 10/10, no questions asked. Keep up the amazing work Jason!"

"My husband and I recently trained here when we were in town to visit family. We were truly impressed with the overall experience we had. The owner, Jason, is exceptionally communicative and made us feel at home. The gym’s location is convenient and easy to find, which is a big plus for newcomers. Inside, I found a clean and well-maintained facility equipped with everything needed for my training. The attention to cleanliness and organization was evident, creating a comfortable environment to train in. Iron Arena will be my go-to gym whenever I’m back in town."

Well this was… something lol
PA Nationals 2025
Squats:
285/628 | 305/672 | 312.5/690 X
Bench:
175/386 | 185/407 | 190/418 X
Deads:
305/672 | 322.5/710 | 332.5/732 X
Total: 812.5/1787.5 (6/9 attempts)
The bad/cope:
It feels weird (for me): I thought I was on track for something disgusting and for it to fall on my face like this was disappointing. I feel like I let the people who got me here (working with me) down.
I’m always on the mindset on thinking that my body will cooperate if I force it, but with externals kind of crapping me (all my responsibility) it ended up compounding to… this. Training didn’t feel “mediocre” as other people have labeled it. I still genuinely feel (other than bench) that I was at a pretty good trend to do something disgusting and I did not deliver.
The good:
This meet was genuinely fun. I’m really grateful for my bb who flew just to show up to support me, and definitely made this meet hurt quite a bit less. It’s a privilege to be in a platform with such a stacked class in the first place and I would never change that type of environment of competing again. I’m also grateful for for doing their parts. I just wish I put up a performance that respected their time/effort and it feels like I didn’t get to do that. Lastly, I’m grateful to the Lord who kept me safe during my time spent on this sport. Well… onto the next one!
