One of the biggest misconceptions about international travel is that your first trip has to be some huge, complicated adventure halfway across the world.

**It doesn’t.**

There are plenty of destinations that can make a GREAT first international trip. Think:

If international travel is on your bucket list, **make getting your passport your first step.**

Don’t just say, “I need to get my passport.” Put it on your to-do list THIS WEEK. 👏🏽

📕 Go to **travel.state.gov** and review the requirements for a first-time passport.
📄 Gather the documents you’ll need.
📸 Get your passport photo taken.
📅 Find a passport acceptance facility near you and make an appointment if required.
💰 Set aside the application fees and SUBMIT IT!

You do **not** need to have an international trip booked before applying for your passport.

Get the passport FIRST so when that airfare deal, group trip, birthday getaway or last-minute vacation comes along, **you’re ready to GO instead of trying to figure out how quickly you can get a passport.** 🙌🏽✈️
