Choosing between a diesel and gas Jeep Gladiator can be a tough decision. Here’s a quick comparison to help you decide which might be the best fit for your needs:
Diesel Gladiator:
- Torque: Diesel engines offer more torque, making them excellent for towing and off-roading.
- Fuel Efficiency: Typically, diesel engines are more fuel-efficient, especially on the highway.
- Longevity: Diesel engines generally have a longer lifespan with proper maintenance.
- Noise and Vibration: Diesel engines can be noisier and produce more vibration compared to gas engines.
Gas Gladiator:
- Initial Cost: Gas models usually have a lower initial purchase price.
- Maintenance: Gas engines often have lower maintenance costs and are easier to service.
- Fuel Availability: Gasoline is more widely available and sometimes cheaper.
- Performance: Gas engines provide a smoother and quieter ride, which might be preferable for daily driving.
Which One Should You Choose?
- If you prioritize towing capacity and off-road performance, and you don’t mind a bit of extra noise, the diesel might be the better choice.
- If you prefer lower upfront costs, easier maintenance, and a smoother ride for everyday use, the gas version could be the way to go.
Both options have their strengths, so consider what features are most important to your driving experience. Whether it’s the diesel’s rugged capability or the gas model’s convenience and comfort, the Jeep Gladiator is ready to handle your adventures!
We went with the gas version. Our Jeep is lifted 3.5” and we’re on 37” tires. I believe we get around 19mpg, which is better than what we used to get in our JK.
