Today’s shoot involved 3 different locations in 3 different time zones:
NJPrompter in NJ
Talent in Chicago
Talent in Dublin, Ireland.

Each talent were in studio with their own teleprompter but this can also be done 100% online.

The client asked if it was possible to do an interrotron with script combination. And we delivered.

We were able to prompt each talent remotely with an interrotron/script overlay, meaning they saw each other AND the script together. Combining the two makes it easier for presenting as now the talent can be conversational while remaining on script.

This was done without any specialized programs and from our home office. We can do this kind of setup anywhere in the world.

Early in my teleprompter career, I had the privilege of working with
Al Trautwig a few times. He was kind, funny and a laid back guy. He was one of my first "real" experiences with working within the world of sportscasting and sports personalities.

One of the first things he said to me, jokingly "I USED to be a redhead once". Considering he had pretty much no hair left, he was pretty spot on.

He had a sense of humor. He would yell "prompter!!" as a joke when he flub a line and for a while, Al's voice was an everyday experience as Al let Bret record him and he used that for a while as his text message notification for work.

Sadly, I didn't get to work with him again but he was someone I would have worked with again in a heartbeat.

Rest in peace, Al. Thanks for making a newbie-ish prompter op's job a fun and memorable one.

Two more nights for me on the campaign trail. It’s been a hell of a month. It’s not often I get to stand at my own prompters, especially at something as big as this. But look at this stage, how could I resist.
