Today is "International Coffee Day" so I wanted to teach you a little about something I experienced in Sweden this summer called "fika."

Both a noun (have a fika) and a verb (fika with someone), "fika" is a cherished Swedish cultural tradition that means taking a deliberate pause to enjoy a hot drink and a sweet treat while connecting with others. We were able to enjoy this tradition multiple times during our time in Sweden ... and let me say, their cinnamon buns (kannelbullar) were among the best I've ever tasted in my life! (The cardamom bun in the photo was delicious, as well!!)
