Just finished these - the faces go on last, don't like them watching me. Dotted the eyes and signed, DONE! These are the 2022 Santas with his big ole' faithful hound dog, Barney snuggled up close, hoping to get to go with Santa on the famous Christmas Eve trip (Santa hasn 't decided yet).. Chalkware cast in my hand made molds of the original sculpted model....To be at the Art Show, Perceptions, Vernon - November 12th to December 22nd. Betty

Some more of the Rider Canning Factory workers at Hayden in 1923. Listing the ones we could identify. 1. Ida May Perry was married to Howard Perry . She died in 1939 and was buried at Reddington. - 2. Emma Hobson was married to Rev. Samuel Hobson. She died in 1931 and is buried at Leesville in Lawrence Co. - 3. Rev. Samuel Hobson was a United Brethren minister and served 26 churches in Indiana by the time he passed away in 1933. He was buried with his wife. - 4. Edward Simmons – He lived in Hayden and was a B. & O. railroad employee. He died in 1924 and is buried at the Hayden Cemetery. 9. Mary Campbell

Today 388 ducks, 53 geese, 12 cormorants, 14 coots, 5 grebes, and 4 herons were spotted on the various wetlands throughout the refuge. Photo of coots by Angela van Winden/USFWS
