IT'S NOT WHAT YOU SEE- Says Gabariella Truman!
There's been so much chatter now that things are slowly reopening. How will they be when I fly or when I check in to a hotel? How is it going to feel when people stand super far from me, when a hotel staff member is in my view in a mask, perhaps with gloves on not wanting to come near me (and vice versa), when I see items that are shrink wrapped to signify some sort of sensitization...there are so many questions we all have but I need you to remember something.

Clean and fresh does not always mean clinical. Hospitality does not mean hospital. Warmth, heart-centered welcomes are things we tend to feel first before I see. Balance and beauty are things our emotions involuntarily absorb and adhere to before we even notice the AAAAHHH moment. Eyes say it all so if someone is smiling at you even through a mask, we feel it. That doesn't go away, no matter how many plastic dividers you wind up seeing in the next few months or how many new contact less procedures you come across. It'll be there. You have to do what you have to do in the air and on the ground, that won't change, but neither will that true core of what hospitality is all about even when things look different. I believe you will feel the same.

And now, 2 things I really think you should be doing to spring forward . Coming soon Visit your backyard from Yellowstone National Park to Lake Powell and what about visit Martha's Vineyard. More to come! Interested give us a call at 9178601232 of email me at [email protected]

What to Know About Passports in the Wake of COVID-19
What to Know About Passports in the Wake of COVID-19
Having a passport is key for those looking to travel internationally and making sure it's up to date and renewed is a huge part of the process.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect their workforce and customers, the U.S. Department of State Travel significantly reduced passport operations in March 2020, including temporarily suspending expedited passport processing and restricting services to cases involving life-or-death emergencies.

As global conditions continue to evolve, and as states and health authorities adapt their operational recommendations, the Department says it's looking forward to resuming routine passport processing, while protecting the safety of staff and customers.

The Department also says it's planning to gradually reopen in three phases this summer as part of the U.S. Department of State's Diplomacy Strong plan, which follows guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for safely reopening, noting each passport agency and center will open on a different date based on local conditions. To accommodate the current travel climate, the Department of Homeland Security has also extended the deadline for travelers to obtain REAL ID to October 1, 2021.

A statement on the U.S. Department of State Travel website offered insight for future passport operations:

"We continue to experience significant delays in passport processing, as our staff are unable to process applications from home due to strict standards for security and privacy protection for customers. This includes applications by customers who already applied for routine service at passport acceptance facilities or who mailed in renewal applications since March. We ask for your patience as we gradually resume normal operations and address COVID-19 related processing delays."

The Department says they're committed to working as hard to process applications as quickly as possible, as soon as it is safe for them do so.

To see some frequently asked questions and more information on COVID-19 related updates, see the U.S. Department of State Travel COVID-19 update page.

I promised I will keep you all updated as travel opens up. If you are thinking of planning your summer vacations, here are some ideas:

How to Handle Vacation Plans (Including Your Summer Vacation) During COVID-19
Last summer, nearly half of all Americans headed out on a vacation. This summer, with so much of the country and the world still under quarantine and lockdown, traditional travel plans may be out the window.
“We’ve gone from a whole society of FOMO to FOGO—fear of going out,” says travel expert Peter Greenberg, host of The Travel Detective and CBS News travel editor. “But we’ve evolved into a species where we don’t just want to travel, we need to. So it’s not a question of whether or when or even to where, it’s going to be how we travel.”
Your summer travel plans and vacation checklists may need to shift—or be canceled altogether—to protect your health and the health of the people you meet when you’re out and about. Here’s what to consider when you’re making travel plans during the coronavirus crisis if you need something to look forward to beyond your next staycation.
Before you start planning that trip, though, remember that the health and safety of you, your family, and people at the companies, services, and destinations you plan to use or visit comes first. Planning a trip for this June may not be in the cards, but if you’re ready to start planning trips way in advance, be sure to take these precautions.

Think small this summer
If you had grand plans to add some stamps to your passport in summer 2020, you might be disappointed. Many countries will likely keep their current rules requiring people arriving into the country to undergo a 14-day quarantine in place until the coronavirus crisis is definitively over, and who wants to spend their entire vacation stuck in a hotel room?
“We’re going to come out of the gate slowly,” Greenberg says. “International travel is DOA until January, so for the next three to six months, people will stay in their comfort zone with one-tank trips, under 300 miles away.”
Greenberg expects people to crowd into national parks and state parks, so he recommends heading off the beaten path. “Rediscover the small towns of America,” he says. “You don’t have to go to the Statue of Liberty to say you’ve been in New York state—there are different ways to see a city and to see a state. Look for two-lane country roads and stop where you want to stop. You’re probably going to have an amazing time.”

Don’t discount the big hotel chains
It may feel safer to be in an Airbnb or a tiny boutique hotel, but the chain hotels are looking for ways to ensure the safety of their guests and their staff, too.
“The big hotel chains are coming up with cleaning protocols,” Greenberg says. “Hilton has partnered with Mayo Clinic—and short of calling it the Hazmat Inn, they’re doing everything to create a level of comfort and security.”
Hotels are doing away with many potential touchpoints by allowing smartphone key access to rooms, removing unnecessary objects like hangers and magazines, and even putting a “seal” on the door after it’s been thoroughly cleaned to their new standards, so you can feel confident that it’s safe and virus-free.
Time your cancelation correctly
If you decide to cancel your travel plans, start with the hotel and any tours and activities you have planned.
“For hotels and tour companies, I advise reaching out sooner rather than later,” says travel planner Susan Moynihan of The Honeymoonist/Largay Travel. “By canceling early, they may have an option to resell your room or tour, so they may be more incentivized to bend the rules for you and let you change things.”
With airline tickets, it’s best to wait until the bitter end if you’re looking for a refund.
“It’s a game of chicken,” Greenberg says. “Do not blink first. Airlines will keep flights on schedules up until two days before, to avoid having to pay the refund. Wait until the airline cancels the flight to get the full refund.” If the flight actually happens as you booked it and you don’t plan on flying, you can still cancel and get a voucher for future travel.

Look at the potential benefits of the voucher
If you can afford to leave the money—and still want to take your planned trip eventually—it may be smart in some cases to seek out a voucher instead of a refund.
“Most are being as generous as they can, with incentives like 2021 trips at 2020 prices, or 125 percent credits towards future travel and waived change fees,” Moynihan says. “If you can afford to hold off and reschedule your trip, I think it’s a win-win; it helps support the travel industry, and it can benefit you in the long run. Also, it reserves your space for when the post-pandemic travel rush ensues. As soon as there’s a vaccine, people will be eager to return to travel, so things will be at a premium.”

Don’t give up
You might have to be tenacious (and on hold for a long time) to get the solution (read: refund or cancelation voucher) you want.
“It’s always worth the time to call directly, and go up the chain if need be,” Moynihan says. “A call-center customer service rep may not have the power to grant cash refunds, so asking to speak to a manager can be useful.”
Not getting your case for a refund or voucher heard in the calls? You may get more leverage from the customer service reps who monitor the company’s social media accounts.

Look into your travel coverage
Credit cards can be an avenue of last resort to help you recoup some of your cash through their insurance or a chargeback. Separate travel insurance may be able to help in some circumstances, too.
“Most of them do not cover for COVID-19—it’s considered a force majeure-type event,” Moynihan says. “But they still cover for things like cancelation for any covered reasons, such as documented illness for you or a close family member, or job loss. It’s always worth asking about cancel for any reason insurance, which lets you cancel up until a few days out for any reason whatsoever. But you need to purchase that at the time of initial deposit; you can’t add it later on when you get nervous about traveling.”

Pay a little more for flexibility
Not sure if you’re ready to commit to traveling—or you’re worried about how fluid the coronavirus situation could be? It may be worth it to pay a little extra for a fully refundable booking for future trips you plan.
“Nonrefundable rates may be slightly cheaper, but they can cost you more in the long run if you have to pay a change fee or cancel,” Moynihan says. “It’s always worth paying for flexibility, especially now.”

What New Safety Measures Travelers Can Expect From Delta:

Delta CEO Ed Bastian sent a letter to SkyMiles members on Tuesday explaining new health and safety measures being taken by Delta. This was just after the airline, as reported by our sister publication Travel Agent, announced its tentative June schedule to U.S. hubs, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia and Africa.

Here’s what travelers can expect:
Starting from check-in, you will be required to wear a mask until you reach your destination; Delta employees will be wearing them. as well. Tip: Just ask for a mask if you don’t have your own. Surfaces are wiped down throughout the day, starting with kiosks and baggage stations. Plexiglass shields will be in place at Delta check-in and gate counters by the end of May, and travelers will be encouraged to maintain a safe distance with on-floor decals at check-in, at the gate and on all Delta-owned jet bridges.
At the gate, you’ll find gate areas and jet bridges disinfected with electrostatic spraying. Before you board, Bastian says, Delta teams follow an extensive cleaning checklist with authority to hold the flight for additional cleaning if they aren’t satisfied; this includes safely sanitizing each aircraft with electrostatic spraying before every flight and wiping down tray tables and seatback screens. Boarding will occur from back to front and be limited to 10 customers at a time to minimize contact with others. Travelers will receive snack bags with a sanitizing wipe at boarding on select flights to reduce onboard service touchpoints.
Every flight will be capped at 60 percent capacity and middle seats are blocked. The air on all aircraft is completely recirculated 10 to 30 times per hour with fresh air or through industrial-grade HEPA filters “with similar performance to those used in hospital operating rooms and other highly sensitive environments.” Announcements will also encourage you to take time when deplaning to create distance for those ahead to exit.

Regarding cancellations, if you have travel booked through September 30, 2020, or existing eCredits from flights March 1 through September 30, 2020, there are no change fees to reschedule your trip through September 30, 2022. In addition, tickets purchased between March 1 and May 31, 2020, can be changed without a change fee for a year from your date of purchase.

These are indeed unprecedented times – the range and scale of disruption to all our daily lives is staggering. There is no easy fix, and what the new normal is, yet to be determined. Travel for now, has almost ground to a halt and our industry is trying to figure out what the future holds. At Manstravel, LLC we are preparing for the future which will once again allow that excitement of planning customized unique vacations, visiting distant lands, exploring old and new cultures, sharing a meal.
Now is too early to start selling. First, airlines need to open up their international routes and Governments need to establish non-quarantine procedures for international visitors.
As Your Travel Advisor with our receptive partners, we need to establish social distancing protocols, more private and exclusive products. We understand that this will take time,
but we are now busy preparing for the future.
Today we are launching our short website with future group travel which will be focusing on extremely visual content to remind people of how why we love to travel and all the amazing destinations around the world. In June, we will begin to introduce some unique locations and products that encourage social distancing. July will begin to target specific styles of vacation such as health and wellness cruise , spas, genealogy travel to West Africa and wine tasting in South Africa .
Let’s Travel Again” campaign which will begin in September will be a launched with 2021 travel.
Until then, be safe and keep dreaming!
