Brody’s moving up on the urgent list and needs a rescue to help him find the best possible home.
Brody is a big guy. 83lbs! Believed to have some Great Pyrenees in him.

I came across a volunteer’s post about this dog and had to try posting;

🐾 Big, lovable softie who’s clearly scared in the shelter environment
🐾 Extremely affectionate—he stays close and seeks comfort from his person
🐾 Constantly checks in with his handler, clearly eager to please
🐾 Walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys taking in the world with slow, happy sniffs
🐾 Cuddles up and gently rests a paw on your leg like he’s saying “please don’t leave”
🐾 Calm, quiet soul—he didn’t make a sound the whole time we were out
🐾 Just a sweet, happy guy with a heart of gold

He is in Charlotte NC Shelter

Meet Hondo.

He’s blind. He’s lumpy. One eye looks to the heavens, and the other gave up somewhere along the way. His tail wags like it’s sending out a desperate Morse code from a soul that just wants to be loved.

We’re not entirely sure what kind of dog he is — maybe a mix of piglet, old bread, and your uncle’s recliner that’s seen better days. But none of that matters.

Because Hondo?
Hondo is love.

Pure, unconditional, tail-wagging, snort-happy love in a body that’s been through a lot — and still chooses joy.

He doesn’t see the world, but he feels it. He follows your scent like a compass, leans into snuggles like his life depends on them, and makes the sweetest little pig noises when he's excited. He doesn’t care that life hasn’t been kind to him — he’s still offering everything he has to give.

Hondo won’t win ribbons or stop traffic.
But he will break your heart open and fill it with something fierce and lasting.

He’s amazing with kids, gets along with other dogs, and is potty and crate trained. He’s been overlooked, probably more times than we can count. But he’s still waiting, still hoping, still wagging.

Someone out there is Hondo’s person.
And when you find each other, everything changes.

Fostering is one of the most rewarding yet emotionally challenging things a person can do.

We open our homes—and our hearts—to dogs we often know nothing about. We invest our time to care for them, our energy to train them, and our love to help them heal from whatever past they’ve endured. Many of us cover the costs ourselves—food, toys, vet visits, you name it—without ever expecting anything in return. Behind the scenes, it’s messy, unpredictable, and often overwhelming. And just when they’ve become part of our family, we say goodbye so they can begin their next chapter.

Because I’ve used my business platform to help these dogs find safety and love, I wanted to share a little joy with you:

*Penny the Pithuhua has found her forever home.
*Envy the American Bully has been adopted into a home that’s perfect for her.

Their happy endings are why we keep saying yes—even when it breaks our hearts.

My name is Envy, and I don’t understand why I’m still waiting.

When my family moved away, they tied me to a tree and left me. Just walked away like I didn’t matter. I was taken to a loud, overcrowded shelter that was terrifying.

Eventually, a kind young woman took me into her home. I’m safe now, and I’m loved, but I spend most of my time shut in her room with her because one of the many dogs in the house doesn’t like me. It is sad becauss I’ve never done anything but try to be friendly to alk dogs here, there are 4 other digs that do like me.

They tell me I’m just here temporarily. I’ve seen other dogs come and go that this family helped. They’ve all found families. I’m happy for them, but it hurts to wonder why no one chooses me and I am still here.

I’m around 1 to 2 years old. I’m house-trained. I put myself in my crate when it’s time. I get along with other dogs and cats. I love to play with the ones who want to, and I respect the space of the ones who don’t. I’m smart. I walk great on the leash. I try to be everything a good dog is supposed to be.

And yet… I’m still here. Still waiting. Still unwanted.

I’m in the Charlotte, NC area. I don’t want to be someone’s temporary anymore. I just want to be someone’s forever.

Please, if you’re reading this, help me find a home where I’m not left behind.

Meet Oakley – Our Mystery Mix with One Blue Eye and One Big Personality! 👀🐾

Ever seen a dog with one greenish eye, one blue eye, and zero idea who his dad is? Same. Oakley is a 25lb pug mix (we think there’s some French Bulldog in there, but his family tree is basically an unsolved mystery on four legs). He is about 18 months old.

Oakley was found on the side of the road, clearly on his way to something important… or maybe just trying to figure out his roots. Whatever the case, he’s now safe, happy, and ready for a new home with people who appreciate a little mystery and a lot of charm.

✔️ Housebroken
✔️ Crate trained
✔️ Friendly & happy with dogs and kids
✔️ Walks like a champ on leash
✔️ Rocking some serious face wrinkles (which do require regular cleaning—he’s not high-maintenance, just wrinkle-aware)

He’s the kind of dog who turns heads at the park—not just because of those mismatched eyes, but because he radiates joy, confidence, and a little bit of “you’ll never guess my breed, will you?”

Ready to adopt a dog that’s part pug, part mystery, and 100% lovable? Oakley’s your guy.

ERNIE’S LAST CHANCE

Red was a favorite. Loved, adored… and still, he lost his life—simply because there was no room.
Now Ernie, who already escaped death once, stands on the edge. So many volunteers are crying out for help—most with more dogs in their homes than they can handle—but the help never seems to come.

Ernie was on the euthanasia list too. He made it off. But will that second chance actually mean something… or will he just be another name we whisper through tears next week?

Ernie is only 2 years old, and life has already shown him its cruelest side. Failed by the people meant to love him, left behind in a shelter bursting at the seams, and saved just barely by the kindness of strangers who scraped together a few days of boarding.

That safe place ends this Saturday.

After that? He goes back.
Back to the cold, noisy kennels.
Back to being just another number.
Back to the risk of being put down—alone, confused, and heartbroken.

Ernie is about 59 lbs—with the tall, lean frame of a Great Dane, the soft eyes and black coat of a Lab, and the gentle, snuggly heart of a Staffordshire Terrier. His worried little forehead wrinkles tell a story his voice can’t: he knows what’s coming.

At the shelter, he pulled hard on the leash—not out of bad manners, but because he was desperate to relieve himself after being cooped up for hours. Once he’s comfortable, harnessed, and able to breathe—he walks with ease.

This boy is a social butterfly through and through. He loves people. He plays sweetly with both male and female dogs. And his favorite thing in the world is splashing in a kiddie pool—soaking up every second of freedom like he knows it won’t last.

💔 And maybe he does. Maybe that’s why he holds on so tightly to joy.
Because Ernie doesn’t understand that his freedom is slipping away… again.

Please—if you’ve ever thought of fostering, now is the time.
If you’ve ever wondered if you could save a life—this is it.

Ernie needs a foster, adopter, or rescue before Saturday. Even a short staycation could spare him from a terrifying return to the shelter. He has no voice to beg for his life. But we do.

📩 Message me today to meet Ernie. He doesn’t have much time left.

Available through CharMeck Animal Care & Control
Animal ID: A1246460
Currently at Natural Breed Kennel Resort until Saturday

💔 TIME SENSITIVE: She Lost Everything… Now She Could Lose Her Life 💔

LaShae—known to her mom as Brownie—was once a cherished companion. Her days were spent curled beside someone who loved her deeply. But that life ended in an instant.

Her mom was rushed to the hospital in an emergency—critically ill and unable to return home. LaShae waited. We all hoped it would just be temporary. But that hope is now gone. Her mom’s condition isn’t improving, and there is no family coming for LaShae. She lost her person. She lost her home. And now, she’s losing time.

When she arrived at the shelter, we discovered she has severe dry eye—no tear production in one eye, and almost none in the other. It’s painful. It’s lifelong. She needs medication every 12 hours just to stay comfortable. Her $57 ointment is manageable for someone with stability and love—but nearly impossible in a shelter setting where stress and cold concrete floors take the place of home and care. We’re doing our best, but it’s not enough. And if no one steps up soon… we will lose her.

This sweet, 1-year-old soul is only 42 lbs and has her whole life ahead of her. She may eventually lose vision in one eye, but she doesn’t let it stop her. She still trusts. She still loves. She still wags her tail and leans in for comfort—despite losing the only person she ever knew.

LaShae is:
• Dog-friendly 🐶
• Cat-friendly 🐱
• Kid-friendly 👧🏽👦🏼
• Housebroken, leash-trained, and rides well in the car
• Spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative

Her adoption fee is fully sponsored, and she comes with a $150 vet credit. We are open to foster, foster-to-adopt, or rescue. She just needs someone to see her, really see her, and say: “I’ll be your new someone.”

Please don’t scroll past her. She lost everything. Don’t let her lose her life.

🆘 Apply to foster, adopt, or foster-to-adopt at DarlingtonHumane.org
📧 Rescues, email Kim at [email protected]
📍 Located in South Carolina — transport available for approved homes

🙏🏼 Please share. Comment. Ask about her. LaShae is out of time. Help us save her.

A friendly reminder that this page represents my business. While I frequently use this platform to advocate for shelter dogs, I am not a shelter or rescue organization, nor do I have control over any. I’m simply someone who deeply loves dogs and does what I can to make a difference.

This passion has inevitably impacted my business, but I continue to do both—because I believe in helping however I can. If you love dogs and want to enjoy a vacation with them, I invite you to explore our properties and support our efforts. Your support allows us to keep making a difference, one dog at a time.

Envy doesn’t get it… and honestly, neither do we.

She’s not a designer breed.
She’s not tiny.
She’s not fluffy or trendy.

But she is loyal, loving, smart, and desperate for a chance.

Envy adores people. She’s great with dogs. She ignored kittens at the shelter. She LOVES kids—though older kids are best because she shows love with full-body hugs. 🐾

She’s housebroken. Crate trained. Knows lots of commands. She tries so hard to be a “good girl.”

But still… no one wants her.

She’s been overlooked, passed by, and left behind simply because she’s not “what people are looking for.”

Let’s change that.
Help us help Envy. Like, comment, or share this post. You never know who might be the one to say “yes” to her. 💔🐶
