Back at El Mangroove, but this time I’m staying in one of their newer Resort Suites.

I’ve stayed at this property several times before, including in the Bark and Nesto suites, so I wanted to show you what the newer, upgraded version looks like.

It has a lot of the same features as the Bark and Nesto, but it feels a little more open and updated. It also has the ability to connect to another room, which I really like for destination wedding groups with larger or extended families. Everyone can have their own space without being completely separated.

The Bark and Nesto suites are still here, and from what I understand, El Mangroove is continuing to update rooms. Does that mean someday they’ll all become King and Two Queen Resort Suites? Maybe.

Do I have that answer yet? No.

Will I find out? You know I will.

For now, I wanted to give future couples a look at what one of these newer rooms is actually like for their guests. And after staying in both versions, we’re really loving this one.

One of the biggest reasons Puerto Vallarta made so much sense for Vinnie + Cait’s wedding was the timing.

They’re getting married in February, which is such a great time to be in Banderas Bay if you’re hoping to see whales. That became one of the things we really wanted to build into their wedding trip.

So we just secured a private catamaran with Puerto Vallarta Catamarans / Private Boat Rentals that can take their 80+ guests out on the bay together.

And honestly, the boat is sexy. If you’re going to plan something like this, it might as well photograph well too.

Then came the other part: getting everyone from the resort to the marina and back. That took some figuring out, but that piece is handled too.

I love this kind of thing for a destination wedding because the wedding day is obviously important, but it doesn’t have to be the only thing everyone remembers from the trip.
