Venice, Italy

Good morning from Venice, Italy,

It’s a windy on the deck this morning. Today we leave behind the Norwegian Pearl. All I can say is WHAT a vacation!!!

A group of us are staying in Venice for an extra day and flying out tomorrow. I have plans to ride the Gondola boats and trying authentic Italian pizza.

Croatia
Scenic Coastal View

Today’s Croatian adventure took us along the gorgeous coastline, where every turn seemed to bring another postcard-worthy view. And somewhere along the way, I learned that Croatia even has its very own heart-shaped island known as the “Island of Love.” ❤️🏝️ Now THAT seems appropriate for a country this beautiful!

Our adventure eventually brought us to a family-owned restaurant for a delicious farm-to-table meal. And when they say farm-to-table, they mean it! This family even grows their own grapes and makes their own wine. 🍇🍷

But the surprise of the day was the cherry wine. 🍒🍷 I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect when they poured it, but let me tell you—it was actually GOOD! Between Love Island and cherry wine, Croatia was really starting to show off. 😂

After all that sightseeing, eating, sipping, and exploring, I happened to glance at my step watch and discovered I had somehow managed to rack up nearly 9,000 steps! 😳

My first thought was, WHEN did that happen?! Apparently Croatia has figured out how to exercise me without my permission. 😂

Now those 9,000 steps have officially earned me a lawn chair on Deck 13, where I’m stretched out overlooking the absolutely beautiful Adriatic Sea. 🌊🛳️

Heart-shaped islands. ❤️
Beautiful Croatian coastline. 🇭🇷
Farm-to-table food.
Homemade cherry wine. 🍒🍷
Nearly 9,000 mystery steps. 👟
And a front-row seat to the Adriatic.

Yep… I’d call that a VERY good day in Croatia! ❤️🇭🇷

Croatia

This morning we are sailing along until we get to Croatia. We don’t arrive until 11:00 PM.

Today, I selected an easier tour called panoramic Croatia. It sounds better than Bozo’s 6 mile hike yesterday.

Kotor
Pepsi Obsession Explained

🥤😂 THE PEPSI STRUGGLE IS REAL! 😂🥤

For those of you who don’t quite understand my obsession with Pepsi, allow me to explain just how serious this situation has become.

Here I am on a cruise ship with a PREMIUM drink package. And when I say premium, I mean PREMIUM! 🍹🍸☕️

I mainly chose it because it includes Wi-Fi and phone access—two things I absolutely need to keep Yes! Go Travel running and stay connected with my family while I’m gallivanting around the world.

But this package also comes with practically every beverage known to mankind.

Top-shelf liquor? ✅
Fancy specialty cocktails? ✅
Starbucks? ✅
Energy drinks? ✅
Wine? ✅
Beer? ✅
Probably something served flaming with a pineapple hanging off the side? ✅

PEPSI? ABSOLUTELY NOT. 😭

They have Coke.

Now, I’m sitting in the sports bar enjoying my wings and sliders, staring at this enormous wall of top-shelf liquor when a thought crosses my mind…

Surely, with ALL THAT ALCOHOL, somebody can mix me up something that tastes like a Pepsi! 🤣🤣🤣

At this point, I don’t care if it requires three bartenders, a chemistry degree, two shots of something imported, and a prayer.

Just make it taste like Pepsi! 😂🥤

I’m about ready to slide my glass across the bar and say, “Sir, I have a premium drink package. I want you to use EVERY resource available to you and BUILD ME A PEPSI!” 🤣

If anybody knows of a cocktail, mocktail, secret bartender trick, or some kind of cruise-ship witchcraft that can turn Coke into something resembling my beloved Pepsi, PLEASE HELP THIS GIRL OUT!

Because apparently I can travel halfway around the world, run a travel agency from the middle of the sea, and have access to top-shelf liquor…

but getting a Pepsi is where civilization draws the line. 🤦‍♀️😂🥤

Kotor and Budavu
Tender Transport

😂🚤 Well… Be Careful What You Wish For in Kotor! 🇲🇪

Because our ship couldn’t pull directly into port, we had to take a tender boat into Kotor. Now, the boat going over was completely enclosed—which meant no wind, no real scenery, and definitely not enough adventure for this girl. 😂

After surviving my earlier “Bozo the Walking Tour Guide” encounter, I silently made a wish:

🙏 Lord, if you could just get me back to that ship in a REAL boat, I promise I’ll behave.

Well, apparently Heaven was listening! 😂

When it was time to head back, up pulled this little pontoon-looking boat to take us to the ship.

BABY!!! 🚤💨

Now THIS was my kind of transportation! The wind was whipping through my hair, the water was all around us, and I was sitting there grinning like I had personally chartered the thing. 😂 Forget that enclosed tender—I had upgraded myself to the Suzie Kotor Express!

As the wind blew through my hair, I started thinking…

🤔 Well, that wish came true pretty quickly.

Maybe I should make another one…

🎰 Lord, how about I stick $20 in the casino tonight and you turn it into about $200,000?

I mean… we’ve already established that wishes are being granted today. 🤣🤣🤣

And after four hours of walking with Bozo, I feel like I’ve earned a little divine intervention at the slot machine! 😂🎰

Kotor, you certainly didn’t go according to plan—but you sure gave me a story to tell! ❤️🚤

Kotor and Budva Excursion

Today’s excursion was called Historical Kotor & Budva. Now, in my mind, “excursion” means somebody pulls up in a nice air-conditioned motorcoach, I climb aboard, claim a good seat, and somebody else does the driving.

Apparently Montenegro did NOT receive that memo. 😂

I knew things were going downhill when our guide introduced himself and, with his accent, I could have sworn he said his name was Bozo. 🤡 I asked my roommate and she agreed.

Okay, Bozo…where’s the bus?

THERE WAS NO BUS.

The man had a TOUR PADDLE.

That should have been my first clue. 🤦‍♀️😂

Apparently, for the next FOUR HOURS, my two feet were going to be the motorcoach.

I looked down at my shoes and whispered:

“On Clouds, you little suckers better live up to your name today. Mama needs you.” 👟😂

Off we went through the historic streets of Old Town Kotor with Bozo leading the parade and me following behind, quickly realizing his history lesson sounded suspiciously like something I could have Googled over breakfast.

That’s when the devil climbed right up on my shoulder. 😈

I started eyeballing that tour paddle.

I thought, “Suzie, you could take him.” 😂

Just grab that paddle, turn around and announce:

“ATTENTION, EVERYBODY! There has been a management change. Wikipedia is closed. We are now looking for Pepsi, baklava, bathrooms and anything else interesting. FOLLOW ME!” 🤣🤣🤣

But I behaved.

I would like that officially documented.

I. BEHAVED.

Mostly because I became distracted by the CATS. 🐈😂

These people must absolutely LOVE cats because every corner we turned had another one. Cats on steps. Cats in doorways. Cats stretched out in the sunshine. Cats looking at our group like, “Bless their hearts…they actually paid somebody to walk them around here.” 🤣

At this point, the cats were providing more entertainment than Bozo, and they didn’t even have a paddle.

Eventually we made our way to Budva, where things became much more commercialized with souvenir shops everywhere.

NOW WE’RE TALKING!

History is wonderful, but this girl had been walking for HOURS. I had earned something.

And then, like a beacon from Heaven, I found it…

BAKLAVA. 🥮

And even better…

A CAN OF PEPSI! 🥤🙌

HALLELUJAH!

Suddenly my feet stopped complaining, my attitude improved, and I no longer felt the need to overthrow Bozo and seize control of his tour paddle. 😂

So today’s travel lesson is simple:

Never assume an “excursion” comes with a bus.

Wear good shoes.

Follow the cats.

Keep an eye on the guide’s paddle.

And most importantly…

Never underestimate the healing powers of baklava and a cold Pepsi! 😂🥤🥮

Another successful day of international travel—and somehow they STILL keep letting me roam foreign countries unsupervised. 🌍🤣

Corfu
Brazilian Dinner

As the sun was setting last night, I couldn’t help but sit there and think, “Girl, you are blessed.” ❤️

I had been invited to dinner at a wonderful Brazilian specialty restaurant with Sarah and Gene Davy. Now, these two aren’t just people I happened to have dinner with—they have been traveling with me for 19 years! That’s a whole lot of miles, adventures, laughter, food, and probably a few stories we better just leave OFF Facebook. 😂

And then there’s Gene. Bless him! Since I have yet to find anyone. who appreciate sushi the way I do, Gene has graciously accepted the position of Official Sushi Eating Partner. 🍣😂 Anytime this girl needs a sushi fix, Gene steps up to the plate. Somebody has to make the sacrifice!

Our Brazilian dinner was absolutely delicious, but the best part of the evening wasn’t what was on the plate. It was sitting around the table, laughing, talking, relaxing, and spending time with people who have been part of my journey for nearly two decades.

One thing you need to understand about me is that I don’t take friendship lightly.

If you’re on my page, have traveled with me, worked beside me, shared a meal with me, or somehow crossed paths with me along this crazy journey called life, there’s a connection there that I value.

I’m the person who will try to help you when you need it, stand beside you when life gets difficult, and do whatever I reasonably can to make your load a little lighter. I wish everyone looked at friendship that way, but unfortunately, life teaches us that not everyone does.

That just makes me appreciate the genuine ones even more. ❤️

So as the sun went down on another beautiful day, I realized something…

The best souvenirs I’ve collected over all these years aren’t sitting on a shelf. They’re the friendships, memories, laughter, and wonderful people I’ve collected along the way.

And after 19 years, Sarah and Gene are definitely two of the keepers.

Now Gene… just remember that Official Sushi Eating Partner position is a lifetime appointment. There is NO retirement plan! 😂🍣❤️

Corfu
Hop on Hop off Bus

🇬🇷 CORFU: Maximum Fun on a Minimum Budget! 😂🚌🍦🥤

Corfu wins the award for the cheapest excursion I’ve purchased on this trip—and somehow, it delivered maximum fun! Who says adventure has to cost a fortune?

With unlimited access to the City Sightseeing hop-on, hop-off buses, I could explore the island on my own terms—choosing where to go, when to hop off, and what to discover next. A bus, an island, and the freedom to roam? Now THAT is my kind of excursion! 🚌😂

We traveled along gorgeous coastlines and beaches, and I understood why so many people spent the day by the water. But you know me—I wasn’t about to come all the way to Corfu and see only one small piece of it. There was an island to investigate!

Then, somewhere along the route, I spotted something that made the day even better…

A PEPSI! 🥤🙌😂

Forget buried treasure—I had found the real Greek gold! Give me an open road, beautiful scenery, a sightseeing bus, and an ice-cold Pepsi, and life is pretty darn good!

One stop took me to the beautiful Church of Saint George and the Old Fortress. When I discovered a lighthouse and cross farther up, I had to keep going. Apparently, put something interesting at the top of a hill and promise me a spectacular view, and I’ll forget I’m supposed to be on vacation. 😂

And WOW—the view was absolutely worth it! ❤️🇬🇷

After all that history, walking, and exploring, I decided I had earned something very important:

GELATO! 🍦😂

Can you believe I had made it this far into my Greek adventure without having any? First a Pepsi, now gelato—apparently, I’m eating and drinking my way across Greece one emergency at a time! 😂

While searching for my treat, I stumbled upon a lively open-air street market filled with shops, local goodies, and plenty of reasons to stop and browse. Funny how quickly a gelato search can become a shopping excursion!

I also sampled one of Corfu’s famous flavors—kumquat—along with a fresh sesame-and-honey cake. 🍊🍯 It was a delicious taste of the local culture and the perfect ending to my day.

So today’s lesson from Corfu is simple:

Sometimes the least expensive excursion creates the biggest adventure. A sightseeing bus, spectacular coastline, history, a lighthouse, local markets, Greek treats, GELATO…and the successful recovery of a PEPSI! 😂🥤

I’d say I got my money’s worth!

Corfu, you were inexpensive—but certainly not cheap on memories! ❤️🇬🇷
