Going Home

As we reach the final day of our Niagara Falls adventure, I can’t help but reflect on what an incredible journey this has been. The countless smiles, laughter, and positive comments from our travelers tell me that this tour was a tremendous success.

One of the greatest joys of being a tour manager is knowing that I get to help bring all the pieces together to create memories that will last a lifetime. Seeing friendships form, hearing stories shared, and watching travelers experience new places makes every hour of planning worthwhile.

Managing two motorcoaches certainly comes with its challenges, but thanks to the outstanding support of Phil Poe on the second bus, everything came together beautifully. His willingness to help ensured that every traveler received the attention and care they deserved, and together we were able to deliver a seamless experience.

My heart is full of gratitude for everyone who trusted Yes! Go Travel with their vacation. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your adventure and for creating memories that we’ll all cherish for years to come.

It's amazing how small the world can be!

When a reservation came in for for Niagara Falls tour, I noticed a familiar name: Wilma Adams had as her emergency contact, my second cousins name. At first, I thought it was simply a coincidence. After all, there are plenty of people with the same last name. But curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to do a little investigating.

To my surprise, I discovered that Wilma Adams is actually my second cousin! The funny part is that neither of us knew the connection when she signed up for the tour. Wilma had no idea that Yes! Go Travel was owned by her cousin, and I had no idea she would be joining us on this adventure.

What started as a routine reservation turned into an unexpected family reunion. It's moments like these that remind me how travel brings people together in the most surprising ways. Out of all the places and all the tours, our paths crossed on a trip to Niagara Falls.

Buffee had the time of his life in Buffalo, New York! During his adventures, he met a charming new friend named Buffette, and the two quickly became inseparable. In fact, Buffee was so smitten that he decided to invite Buffette back home with him!

As if that wasn’t enough excitement, Jill Jarnigan was inspired to give Buffee a song of his very own. Before long, our favorite fluffy traveler was soaking up the spotlight, making new friends, and enjoying his celebrity status.

Our last day in Buffalo was packed with excitement. We started the morning with a two-hour guided tour that introduced us to some of Buffalo’s most interesting landmarks. Along the way, we explored Buffalo RiverWorks, viewed historic naval ships and submarines, and learned more about the city’s rich history.

One of the most memorable stops was a former asylum known for its haunted reputation. While the group continued with the guided tour, I took the opportunity to do a little paranormal investigating on my own. During my visit, I experienced three unexplained occurrences that left me convinced there is more to this place than its history alone.

From military history to mysterious encounters, today was one that created many great memories!

Later, we traded history for hospitality with a visit to the Victorian Wine Estate. Nestled among picturesque vineyards, the estate offered a welcoming atmosphere and a perfect opportunity to unwind.

We sampled six carefully crafted wines, each showcasing the character of the region, while a knowledgeable winemaker guided us through the tasting experience.

The tour provided fascinating insights into the winemaking process, from grape to glass, and the rich history of the property added another layer of appreciation.

Dinner was at The Grapevine Banquets & Catering. It was a delightful and engaging experience that perfectly rounded out the day.

Our day continued in Historic Lewiston, a community rich in history and significance. One of the most moving stops was a former Episcopal church that played an important role in the Underground Railroad. This sacred place provided refuge to enslaved individuals seeking freedom, offering them a safe haven before making the final journey across the Niagara River into Canada.

Standing inside this historic building was a powerful reminder of the courage displayed by those escaping slavery and the compassion of those who risked everything to help them. Learning about the stories connected to this site brought history to life and gave us a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made in the pursuit of freedom.

Historic Lewiston is more than a charming town—it is a place where important chapters of American history were written and remembered.

Day 5 was packed with excitement. We started the day at the Lockport Locks & Erie Canal, where we enjoyed one of the best canal tours I’ve ever been on.

What made it especially fascinating was passing through a double lock, a rare and impressive experience. This stop easily earned a spot among the top places I’ve visited so far in my travels.
