We wanted to share a quick note to our clients traveling to Mexico 🇲🇽
We know news headlines can sound concerning, and when they involve a destination you’re visiting, it’s completely understandable to have questions. Please know we are always actively monitoring every location our clients travel to. We take your safety and the investment you’ve made in your vacation very seriously. If anything could impact your travel experience, we will promptly share updates and walk you through your options.
At this time, travel to the Caribbean side of Mexico, including Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel, and the greater Riviera Maya area, as well as Cabo San Lucas along the Pacific, continues as planned under a Level 2 U.S. State Department advisory (unchanged): the same level assigned to many popular Caribbean destinations. These airports are fully operational. Currently, no active threats are reported in Cancun, Cabo San Lucas or San José del Cabo, and both destinations continue operating normally with strong tourism infrastructure and a visible additional security presence.
Recent reports have focused on the state of Jalisco (where Puerto Vallarta is located) on the Pacific Coast, which is approximately 1,500 road miles from the Caribbean resort areas. (30 hours) This travel advisory has been updated to a Level 3. It has only been one day since the event, so we are still gathering information from reliable sources in-destination and working to resolve and answer questions and concerns about upcoming trips, in order of travel dates.
