This is at the Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park... a vital stop in Accra to learn about one of Africa's strongest historical leaders who threw off the chains of white systemic racism AKA colonialism 2.0. This statue is made on the very spot that he made the famous speech in 1957 declaring that Ghana is now free forever and no longer under British rule. He built his platform on Pan-Africanism and autonomy of Black people.
We must come together now to fight colonialism 3.0 whether that be from police terrorism, the European divide and conquer tactics, educational systems that are ill suited to teach our youth, economic systems that were created to dilute our power or racist elements of society that seek to take from our community and harm our men, women and YOUTH. As my neither would say, RISE UP Africans! Let's usher in a new era, FORWARD EVER, BACKWARDS NEVER.

Shuwalid is an annual three-day festival celebrated by the Harari people of Ethiopia. It marks the end of six days of fasting to compensate omissions during Ramadan. The Harari people celebrate Shuwalid at the shrines of Aw Shulum Ahmed and Aw Akebara, found at the main entrance gates of the walled city of Harar. The festival starts with supplications and spiritual songs, followed by the reading of scriptures, music and dance.

Last month in the area of Cape Town, South Africa. This area embodies Cape Malay/Islamic culture and history as the early inhabitants were enslaved Southeast Asians as well as Africans from various regions. did/does a number on many different melanated people throughout the world. These houses were painted in vibrant colors after slavery "ended" to symbolize the freedom they attained and were still seeking the full benefits of. Situated right next to the CBD (central business district) of Cape Town and backdropped by the amazing Table Mountain, I try to make it here at least once per SA trip to grab some savory food, contemplate history and enjoy the high frequency of these colors that can almost speak out loud.
