Great opportunity for families! Hope to see you tonight!

Established by President Gerald Ford in 1974, EMS Week was created to recognize the important work of emergency medical professionals and the lifesaving care they provide every day. Since then, communities across the country have used this week to celebrate EMS providers, educate the public, and honor the dedication of those who answer the call, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

EMS Week is May 17-23, 2026. Join us as we celebrate EMS Week 2026 with a fun-filled Touch A Truck event on May 20!

Bring the whole family out to meet your local first responders, check out emergency vehicles up close, and learn more about the people who answer the call when our community needs help most. We’re excited to connect with our community and celebrate the work of EMS together!

A list of the rest of the week's events will be posted later today.

We had a great day full of wonderful visitors!

These friends all turned 70 this year and took a fun trip down I 70! I had to snap a pic and I hope someday my friends and I are this cool! 😎

We also had the sweetest boy Waffles stop in! I hope he finds many more pet friendly stops along his way! 🐾

We love travel season! ❤️🚗✈️☀️🌻

As we look ahead to celebrating America’s 250th birthday, we’re reminded of the stories that helped shape our nation right here on the plains. The spirit of the Wild West, built on grit, resilience, and wide-open opportunity, still lives on today. 🤠🇺🇸

Here at the Buffalo Bill Cultural Center, that history isn’t just something we remember, it’s something we carry forward.

Sometimes the best stories walk right through the door.

We recently had a visitor stop in, searching for her grandfather’s family and hoping she might still have relatives here in the area. As we started asking a few questions and looking into familiar last names, something incredible happened…

We realized—we’re related. 🤯

Out of all the places and all the possibilities, our paths crossed in the most unexpected way. It was a powerful reminder that history has a way of bringing people together, often when you least expect it.

You just never know who might walk through the door and become part of your story. ❤️

Real impact. Real independence. 💙

Today, we’re proud to share a moment that perfectly captures why our handicap accessibility project matters. In this video, you’ll see a wheelchair user accessing our facility independently, something that should always be possible, but isn’t always guaranteed.

Projects like this go far beyond improvements to a building, they create dignity, confidence, and a welcoming space for everyone.

This project would not have been possible without the generous support of the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the Seele Foundation. Their continued support allows us to continue our mission here at the Wild West Historical Foundation.

We’re grateful, inspired, and more committed than ever to ensuring our spaces are accessible to all. ♿️
