From ‘Hood Billy’ to Rising Star 🌟: Meet Bill Lefever
If you’ve been around our Columbus warehouse, chances are you’ve seen Bill Lefever behind the wheel of his forklift—affectionately named ‘Hood Billy.’ With nearly 30 years of forklift experience and 5 years at Salem Stones, Bill is the calm, steady hand behind countless customer pickups.
“It’s like second nature, comes natural,” he says with a smile.
For Bill, the work is about more than moving granite. He thoughtfully explains, "You're helping somebody that you've never met…properly sending their loved one off, and you're helping ease that family's pain."
When he’s not working, Bill enjoys cookouts, family time, and weekly pool nights at the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He’s a big fan of the 49ers and Knicks—and a proud Michigan Wolverines supporter (yes, in a sea of Buckeyes! 🏈). When he won OSU game tickets from the company, he took his son, a lifelong Buckeye fan, to his first game at the stadium. ❤️
He and his wife are raising their 6-year-old granddaughter Zoe, and Bill says she—and Salem—keep him going. "My wife tells me I'm goofy all the time. I guess I say things that crack her up, make her laugh all the time."
Recently named a Rising Star, Bill genuinely appreciates Salem’s supportive atmosphere. His advice to newcomers is straightforward and genuine: pay attention, be prepared, and always do your best.
