Examples of places where U.S. citizens need a visa or electronic travel authorization to enter:

Brazil: An electronic visa (eVisa) is required ahead of travel and you must carry a printed copy of the eVisa. The government of Brazil recommends applying at least one month in advance of your intended travel dates.

India: Travelers must enter with a visa in their passport or an e-Tourist visa (eVisa). Note that eVisas are only valid for designated airports, seaports, and selected land border crossings. Make sure to confirm that your eVisa is valid for your planned border crossings before you travel.

UK: An approved Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is required before travel. The ETA is valid for two years or the remaining period of validity on a passport, whichever is shorter.

Don’t let lack of research ruin your trip. Always look up entry requirements at travel.state.gov/destination while planning international travel
