Hey Gang,

I’m calling it a day.

After 20 years ‘on the water’ and/or ‘at sea’ (heck there were several years I spent more time at-sea then I did on land), the time is right to step away. I’m shutting it down Friday, August 29th. I’ll most likely still be involved on a limited basis next year in some capacity with other charter or partyboat operations in the area.

Deb and I will be hanging out at the marina (Seaview Harbor slip E-13) the evening of Saturday, August 30 if you anyone would like to stop by. There might be some pizza and whiteclaws involved.

Sure, there were many memorable catches, and some trips that can only be viewed as historic, once in a lifetime outings. Looking at you Nolan. 😉

But honestly, the most fun we had on a day-to-day basis was helping kids catch their first fish ever and watching their excitement.

The whole crew, and especially the mates, thank you. God knows ya’ll made some very generous contributions to their college funds. Deb and I thank you. It’s rare one gets to pursue and succeed at your passion. I’m very grateful to all of you for that.

The others I know to be good captains and people who offer quality experiences from back-country light tackle to canyon runs. I included some options for partyboats, specialty trips, and North Jersey Fall stripers.

As many of you know, my wife, Deb, is a childhood cancer research exec.. I came home one day to find this RIDICULOUS photo shoot taking place in our home. Please consider a donation.

Hey Gang,
The dog days are upon us in the bay. There are fish to be caught. Some decent sized flounder and the occasional keeper. But for the most part it is action and fun with smaller stuff.

If you have your heart set on dinner, whether flounder or sea bass, you want an ocean reef/wreck trip. We are booked out so try to reach-

One member of the party designated there-self as in charge of the Bluetooth stereo. 3 hours of Creed and Nickleback.

No, silly, you have to go where they live.

We did, and we found them. “Around” 30. We kept a whole bunch due to needing to feed 14 visiting from NoVa.

There was also some blues, a spanny, and a wahoo run-off that is going to haunt me for awhile.

We had Adam and Ollie out on a family fishing adventure this morning. Adam drew a picture of a spot, which he caught. This goes on the fridge.

We roll up on a schools of blues in the inlet and start casting. Succes.

Local fake charter captain rolls up at full speed and drops trolling gear between me and the fish. Then gets indignant when we don’t stop casting.

I’ll tell you a million good things about the other charters in the area but we all have to have that “one guy”.

The good news is we had Lila and her brother Braden out today for Braden’s 10th birthday. Braden caught 13 fish.

Lila just turned 3. So now she is the youngest angler yet this year. She is really shy so we are happy we got a picture of her with her first fish (mom helped).
