Capt. Sam had the Walter family down from our state capital for their 10th anniversary.

They took home a mixed bag of delectable trucha blancas, galvanized snapper, flounder and spotted sea trout.

Capt. Sam had a couple fellas down from the Brandon, MS area today.

The conditions weren’t great but Jerimie and Walker were purty darn good fisherman.

They captured 15 white trout, 5 flounder, 27 snot sharks, a short 3tail that was tagged and released, a nice keeper 3tail that Walker expertly wrangled away from a crab pot, a trolling motor, a Yamaha outboard, and a bad net job by the capt.

This was Walker’s first adventure in the salt so we called June Lipps and asked her to drop by the dock and do a beautiful gyotaku of his nice 3tail.

These two gents headed back north with a mess of delectable fillets and June’s business card to work out the details on Walker’s print.

Walk outside and take a deep breath. The air tastes a little sweeter on 4th of July!

The trout bite at our barrier islands is plum silly right now.
