🐋 HUMPBACK WHALE SEASON HAS BEGUN IN OCEANSIDE! 🐋

What an incredible day on the water yesterday with Oceanside Adventures! After a few days off due to Tropical Storm Rachel, the ocean came alive with humpback whales!

🌊 Yesterday’s Whale Watching Sightings:

🐋 9:30 AM – 10 Humpback Whales

🐋 12:00 PM – 5 Humpback Whales

🐋 2:30 PM – 5 Humpback Whales

Captain Chris Fairbanks reports:

“It was great to get back out on the water after a few days off because of Tropical Storm Rachel. We’d had a pretty slow week before the weather moved in, but things were looking up when three humpback whales mugged the boat and we spotted our first Pacific white-sided dolphins in quite a while!

Yesterday, we found 10 humpback whales feeding, surrounded by Pacific white-sided dolphins and common dolphins. It was an awesome day on the water!”

And the excitement didn’t stop there! Our other two trips experienced incredible humpback whale sightings as well!

🐋 Humpback season has begun, and Oceanside is the place to be!

Have you ever been “mugged” by a humpback whale?! 🐋👀 That’s when a curious whale comes over to check out our vessel—and suddenly WE’RE the ones being watched!

Yesterday’s whale watching was incredible, and today’s humpbacks are keeping the excitement going! We’ve already gotten word that our 9:30 AM trip spotted 10 HUMPBACKS in one trip! 🙌

Talk about taking Hump Day seriously! 💙

Just INCREDIBLE! 🤯🌊 A Spinetail Devil Ray made an appearance off Oceanside yesterday, and we’re still buzzing!

These beauties can reach nearly 10 feet across and feed on plankton, tiny crustaceans and small fish! Their name comes from the spine at the base of their long tail. Watching one glide through the water is pure ocean magic! 💙

🫍✨ ETP ORCAS, A DOLPHIN STAMPEDE & A THRILLING ENCOUNTER!

Hearing that the Eastern Tropical Pacific (ETP) Orcas were heading south from Dana Point, Oceanside Adventures, went on ALERT! Just after noon, the crew located the elusive pod and the excitement quickly spread.

Later that afternoon, NALA headed offshore with approximately 70 Junior Lifeguards onboard for what would become an unforgettable ocean adventure!

As NALA approached the area where the ETP Orcas had been located, the ocean suddenly erupted into chaos. A spectacular dolphin stampede exploded across the surface, with hundreds, possibly even thousands of dolphins racing away in every direction!

The message was unmistakable: the Orcas were hunting.

As NALA arrived on scene, the Orcas were already putting on an incredible display. They were spyhopping and swimming around the vessel, giving everyone onboard extraordinary looks at these powerful predators.

Then came a moment no one onboard will soon forget…
One adult Orca passed directly behind the stern of NALA with a dolphin in its mouth!

Moments later, another Orca spyhopped right off the bow, sending the Junior Lifeguards into a roar of cheers and excitement!

With approximately 70 young lifeguards watching these apex predators in action, it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife encounter.

The young sea lion repeatedly tried to climb onto NALA’s swim step, apparently looking for a little refuge from the action unfolding around it.

For the Junior Lifeguards, it was a spectacular lesson in the reality of the wild!
