Come out on Obsession Too - a beautiful 39’ sailing yacht - for an amazing afternoon sail out of Oceanside Harbor. Enjoy a fun and relaxing afternoon of sailing along the coast of North County San Diego, with the sun on your face and the wind in your hair – and with a little luck (and a skipper with sharp eyes) we may encounter some marine mammals. If dolphins do decide to come play with our boat,
you and your family can safely sit on the large forward deck as they surf our bow wake - so close you can make eye contact with these amazingly intelligent, curious and playful beings. Or maybe, depending on the time of year (NOW), we’ll spot a whale, possibly with her new calf. The mammal I can almost guarantee seeing, are pinnipeds (seals and sea lions - don’t forget to ask how to tell them apart); you’ll be able to take pictures of them lazily sun bathing on a buoy or dock. On a typical afternoon charter, once we’re outside the harbor, and the sails are set, you and your family are welcome to take turns at the helm, learning the basics of how the boat sails. Or you can just sit back and let your captain handle everything, while you and your family relax together - it’s truly amazing how quickly one finds peace while on the ocean. Obsession is a beautifully maintained Cal 39 that has cruised as far as Tahiti and Bora Bora – a true ocean-going yacht. She is skippered (and owned) by a USCG licensed Captain, and semi-retired life-flight paramedic. Safety is my number 1 priority – and should be yours when looking for a boat to sail on. With that said, please be careful, and aware, of the many un-licensed boat owners operating charters illegally. Unlike a professional USCG licensed captain, there are no training or licensing requirements to own and operate a boat privately – which means your un-licensed skipper, the person you’ve entrusted your family’s safety to, could have near zero boating education and/or experience. Not to mention it is illegal for un-licensed boat owners to take any passengers for hire.
