While the beach is always a great place to beat the heat, there are plenty of other ways to stay cool in O’side. Explore the museum, get active by indoor skydiving, bowling, hitting an action park, or take a little air-conditioned shopping break. And if you’re looking for a breeze, nothing beats the wind in your hair on a whale-watching adventure. 🌊🐋

Basically, if it’s hot out, we’ve got options. Just don’t forget the water. 💦

🚴 Bike the Coast - October 24th

Ride through some of Southern California’s most iconic beaches and surf towns with routes for every level and age. Choose from 7, 15, 25, 50, or 100 miles, with longer routes taking you down historic Highway 101 and family-friendly rides cruising the San Luis Rey River Trail. Bring your own bike, rent one, or hop on an e-bike - every kind of rider is welcome! Each route starts and finishes at the Oceanside Pier, with food, music, expo shopping, and plenty of post-ride fun waiting in the athlete village!🚲

🏃O’side Turkey Trot - November 26th

Move your feet before you eat at one of the country’s top Turkey Trots. This Thanksgiving tradition welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities for a fast and flat 5K along the coast, complete with ocean views and breezes. Bring the whole family for the Kids Run, costume contest, live entertainment, and plenty of finish-line fun.🦃
