Step into something out of this world at the Odessa Meteor Crater ☄️

💥Created by a meteor impact thousands of years ago, the Odessa Meteor Crater is one of the most unique landmarks in West Texas and one of the largest impact craters in the country. Scientists believe the meteorites originated from an asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, leaving behind a massive impact site that still surprises visitors today.

Once much deeper than it is now, the crater continues to naturally change over time from West Texas wind and rain erosion, making it a true vanishing landmark.

Explore the interpretive trail, discover recovered meteorite fragments inside the museum, and experience a piece of space history right here in ODTX.

♿ The museum is ADA accessible and offers truck and trailer parking for travelers passing through.
