We arrived in Mykonos with clarity.

Travel has taught us awareness. This time, we protected our peace. No oversharing. No engaging with overly persistent strangers. No revealing where we were staying. Just us, the island, and intentional joy.

And Mykonos delivered.

White stone streets. Bougainvillea draping over balconies. Sunlight reflecting off marble paths. The island felt like a living postcard wrapped in Aegean blue.

My Mykonos Beach Guide

From Secluded Serenity to Southern Glamour
Northern Rustic & Quiet Beaches (Our Favorite Energy)

Agios Sostis
Untouched and peaceful. No loud clubs. No distractions. Just raw beauty.

Fokos Beach
Windswept and serene. Feels like a hidden secret.

Lia Beach
Clear, calm water. Refined but relaxed.

Merchia Beach
Wild, open, and beautifully unbothered.

Kapari Beach
Romantic sunset views overlooking Delos. Intimate and quiet.

These beaches felt sacred — couples, honeymooners, silence, turquoise waters.

Southern Beach Clubs (When We Wanted Energy)

Paradise Beach – Classic Mykonos party scene.
Super Paradise – Lively and unapologetic.
Psarou Beach – Luxury yachts and elevated beach dining.
Platis Gialos – Polished and accessible.

Mykonos is duality. You can choose your frequency daily.

My Personal Diary Notes

Morning Rituals
My favorite part of the trip was my morning jog.
AirPods in. Volume up.

Jay-Z. Rihanna. Eminem. Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The roads were quiet. The sun was soft. The Aegean breeze wrapped around me.

And then — goats.

I passed them once. Apparently, that was a mistake.

Suddenly, they decided I was fascinating and began trotting after me. Was it the music? My energy? The rhythm of my stride?

Either way, I ran faster. They ran faster.

It was hysterical.

Mykonos: luxury, sunsets… and goat cardio.

Afternoons
Beach hopping on a four-wheeler.
Salt in our hair.
No agenda.

We alternated between poolside lounging and hidden coves. Clear blue water. Quiet conversations. Protected peace.

Evenings
Rooftop bars overlooking the Aegean.
Homemade wine 🍷
Champagne 🥂
Soft laughter.
Island music drifting through the night.

Mykonos is open 24/7 — but we moved at our own rhythm.

The Essence of This Trip

This wasn’t just a vacation.

It was intentional.
Private.
Elevated.

Rustic north meets glamorous south.
Still mornings meet electric nights.
Awareness meets enjoyment.

And we found our balance perfectly.

Santorini With My Sister Jenny: Wine, Waves, and the Night We Ran for Our Lives

Santorini was supposed to be one thing: peace.

The kind of peace that comes with salty air, sun-soaked skin, and the kind of sisterhood that feels like a soft landing.

Instead… it became the trip where I learned just how powerful a woman’s instincts can be — and how quickly paradise can turn into survival mode.

Our Dream Greek Island Escape

My sister Jenny and I arrived in Santorini with one mission:

✅ Relax
✅ Eat like queens
✅ Sip wine like we invented it
✅ Disappear into beach days and ocean air

And Santorini delivered immediately.

The island felt like a postcard — whitewashed buildings stacked like sugar cubes, bright blue domes glowing against the sky, and sunsets so unreal they look filtered even in real life.

We stayed at a seaside hotel that felt like a private sanctuary — and the best part?

We had our own private swimming pool.

Yes. Our own.
Just Jenny, me, the sun, and that soft Greek breeze that makes you forget every stressful thing you’ve ever been through.

Dinners + Wine + Sister Time

Every night was a little ritual:

We’d dress up like we weren’t exhausted from swimming and walking all day, then head out for dinner like we were on a movie set.

We ate seafood that tasted like it was still in the ocean five minutes ago. As I ordered seafood speggiti every time. Jenny irfervsteak which she soon discovered was not her best choice being that we had not seen a cow since arriving.

We clinked glasses over local wine that made us laugh louder, relax deeper, and fall into that sweet vacation rhythm.

It was the kind of trip where you look at your sister and think:

“We deserve this.”

We deserved every bite, every sip, every moment of calm. We both had graduated with degrees in Engineering after pouring our entire life into getting to this point.

Then the Vibe Changed

Santorini is beautiful… but it’s still the real world.

And one evening, while we were out, I felt something shift.

Not something dramatic at first — just that quiet, uncomfortable sensation women recognize immediately. Our server offered to stat late keep the restaurant open for us to continue drinking into the night.

That feeling of being uneasy came over me.
That feeling that something is off.

I didn’t want to ruin the night, but inside I was already running scenarios. Who is this server and his friends that joined us.

Because instincts don’t scream.
They whisper.

And mine was whispering: Move. Now.

The Chase

Things escalated faster than logic can explain.

A group of men started closing distance siting beside us and they seemed to share a secret that we were not aware of. I had been warned about gypses by my Scottish friends. So as the gypse sat down at our table surrounding us, i knew i had to move.

It wasn’t casual. It wasn’t cool

It was deliberate.

Their energy felt aggressive — predatory.

Jenny didnt see it or feel the danger and kept drinking but I could feel the moment turning into something much worse.

My heart was pounding, and my mind flipped from vacation mode into the part of my brain that has kept me alive my entire life:

survival.

The Fence Decision

The table was inside a fenced location. All the sudden I jumped over a fence — the kind that you don’t normally jump unless you’re either:
1. in a movie, or
2. in danger.

I didn’t hesitate.

I jumped.

Not because I was athletic.
Not because I was trying to be dramatic.

I jumped because my body knew.

But when I landed on the other side, I realized something horrifying:

Jenny was still on the other side.

And I had to make a decision in half a second.

So I did what sisters do:

I turned back, held my leg, and acted like I was injured.

I pretended I had a leg cramp — like that’s why I jumped over the barrier.

It was my way of telling her without saying it outloud …

Jenny. This is not normal. You need to get over here NOW.

And my sister?
She didn’t hesitate Not for one second.

Because she knows me.

She saw my eyes.
She saw the fear I was trying to hide.

And she jumped.

The Great Escape

The moment she landed, we ran like our lives depended on it — because they did.

We sprinted to our four-wheeler and took off, and behind us…

they chased us.

Not “they looked mad.”
Not “they yelled something.”

They chased us.

That is not misunderstanding.
That is not coincidence.

That is intention.

We didn’t stop until we got back to the hotel.

And even then, I knew:

We weren’t safe yet.

Why We Changed Rooms Immediately

Here’s the part that still makes my stomach drop.

Earlier, Jenny had casually mentioned where we were staying — just in conversation, like any tourist would.

But after what happened, I realized something chilling:

If they knew our hotel…
they could find us again.

I wasn’t going to wait for “proof.”

I wasn’t going to wait for it to get worse.

I told Jenny:
We are changing rooms. Right now.

No negotiation.

The Hotel Owner’s Reaction

The hotel owner was irritated.

He acted like we were being dramatic — like we were inconveniencing him, like it was a hassle.

He was a big, older Greek man, clearly annoyed… until he saw that we weren’t asking.

We were telling.

Eventually, he moved us into a smaller house for our last night.

It wasn’t luxurious like the original stay.

But we didn’t care.

That last night wasn’t about aesthetics.

It was about getting to morning.

Leaving Santorini

We left the island the next morning.

We didn’t “finish our itinerary.”
We didn’t “book another dinner.”

We left because we were not willing to become victims.

And I don’t say that dramatically — I say that as a woman who understands how trafficking works:

It starts with observation.
It starts with testing boundaries.
It starts with pursuit.
It starts with isolation.

And we were not going to let it continue.

What I Learned

Santorini gave us beauty.
It gave us laughter.
It gave us sister memories I’ll cherish forever.

But it also reminded me of something I will never forget:

Your intuition is a gift from God.
And when it tells you to run — you run.

No politeness.
No second-guessing.
No waiting to see if you’re “overreacting.”

Because women don’t get trophies for staying calm in danger.
They get consequences.

Jenny and I came to Santorini for wine and sunsets.

We left with something deeper:

proof that we can trust ourselves.

And no matter where we travel next…

we’ll always remember:

Paradise is amazing —
but awareness is protection.

First Snowboard Trip – Joshua Fast Jr. 🏂🏔️
Getting ready for his very first snowboarding adventure in Colorado, taking on the legendary mountains of Vail.

Bundled up, fearless, and smiling big—this is the start of a lifelong love for the mountains, fresh powder, and chasing new challenges.
A first ride. A first mountain. A memory forever.

There are perfect snow days…
and then there are Park City powder days, the kind that make you want to sell everything you own and become a full-time mountain person with suspiciously strong calf muscles.
From the moment we clicked into our boards, the mountain just delivered.
The powder was so soft and deep we weren’t riding —
we were floating, flying, gliding…
basically starring in our own winter sports commercial.
We spent the entire day playing “follow the leader,” carving down the slopes in a crooked little line like some kind of off-brand Olympic team.
My sister Jenny would snake left, I’d chase her tracks, and Joshua — of course — would fly past both of us with the confidence of someone born on a snowboard.
But the highlight of the trip?
Oh. That deserves its own paragraph.
We had just reached the top of the mountain when Joshua suddenly pointed and yelled:
“LOOK! A wild dog!”
And I’m standing there thinking,
Who brings a wild dog to the top of a snowy mountain?
Is this Park City or a live-action National Geographic episode?
We got closer…
and then it clicked.
This was not a dog.
Not even close.
It was a baby moose —
big-eyed, furry, and adorable —
standing right in our path like it was waiting to check our lift tickets.
And right behind it, just emerging from the trees, was Mama Moose giving us a face that very clearly said:
“Don’t get any ideas.”
Being that close to wildlife, while strapped to a snowboard, out in the untouched snow with two people I love?
Absolutely breathtaking.
Not scary. Not chaotic.
Just pure awe — the kind of moment you tuck away in your heart forever.
From first tracks to the last lift, Park City gave us one of those unforgettable days where the world feels bigger, brighter, and a whole lot more magical. Park City Mountain VacationRentals

Maui Magic: From Lahaina’s Charm to the Luxe Serenity of Four Seasons Wailea

Few places on Earth balance natural beauty, cultural depth, and pure indulgence the way Maui does. My recent journey took me from Kaanaplia to the historic streets of Lahaina to the sun-soaked sophistication of Wailea, home to the legendary Four Seasons Resort Maui — a destination that turns every moment into a memory. Well honestly my sisted hijacked my honeymoon turned it into her wedding weeks before leaving. Needless to say we had our honeymoon as far away from my family as possible. So afted a week in Kaanaplia we headed for saftey at the Four Seasons.

🌺 The Journey South: Lahaina to Wailea
Leaving Lahaina’s vintage whaling-town character behind, I followed the coastal highway where the turquoise Pacific kissed black lava cliffs. As palm trees framed the horizon, the island seemed to slow down — inviting me to breathe deeper, smile wider, and simply be with the man I love. We said goodbye to the twenty five friends and family that made the journey to Kaanapali.

🏖️ The Four Seasons Experience
Arriving at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea feels like entering a world curated for serenity. The open-air lobby greets guests with ocean breezes and fresh orchids, while the sound of waves drifts in from the golden sands of Wailea Beach.

Every detail whispers luxury (no family) without excess — from the infinity-edge serenity pool reserved for adults, to the poolside attendants offering chilled pineapple, to the thoughtful touches like Hawaiian music floating through the evening air.

My favorite moments were in Wailea as for the first time I was able to enjoy my husband also known as my best friend. So sharing this adventure together was more like attending rehab following a week woth my extended family. Starting with sunrise yoga overlooking the ocean, when the island is quiet except for gentle waves. And surfing the🏄‍♀️ waves while enjoying fresh cocktails on the beach. Lazy afternoons by the Serenity Pool, complete with private cabanas and underwater music. Dinner at Spago Maui, where Chef Wolfgang Puck’s signature Pacific Rim flavors pair perfectly with views of the setting sun. The honeymoon was underway.

🌊 Wailea Beach Bliss
Wailea Beach is everything you imagine when you picture paradise: soft golden sand, clear water for snorkeling, and palm trees swaying in the trade winds. The Four Seasons sits right on this crescent of calm — you can walk directly from your suite to the sand in seconds.

A few steps offshore, colorful tropical fish glide through coral gardens. Massive Turtles often appear underwater scaring the fish near the rocky edges of the bay, greeting swimmers with a calm curiosity that feels almost spiritual, they scared the s**t out of me honestly!

🍹 Evenings in Paradise
As the sky fades from pink to indigo, the Four Seasons transforms into an island dream. Torches flicker to life, gentle Hawaiian melodies drift across the lawn, and the scent of plumeria fills the air. With a handcrafted mai tai we shared a private oceanfront dinner for two, every evening feels like my own private celebration. After meeting up with a local we had everything needed for a late night chat and smoke, we decided to walk hand in hand down the beach front as the sunsets in the distant.

🌴 From Culture to Comfort
What makes Maui so captivating is how seamlessly culture and comfort coexist. Spend a day exploring history and art, then return to Wailea for sunset luxury. Together, they tell Maui’s full story — one of resilience, beauty, and aloha spirit.

🧭 Travel Notes

Location: Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, 3900 Wailea Alanui Drive, Wailea, HI

Best Time to Visit: April–June or September–November for ideal weather and fewer crowds.

Pro Tip: Book the Serenity Pool Cabana — it’s worth every moment of oceanfront calm.
Nearby Adventures we enjoyed Snorkel Molokini Crater, hike the lava fields of La Perouse Bay, and watch the sunrise from Haleakalā National Park.

Maui’s magic lies in contrasts: the historic hum of Lahaina and the elegant tranquility of Wailea, rugged cliffs and silky beaches, ancient culture and modern indulgence. The Four Seasons doesn’t just offer a stay — it delivers an experience that captures the very essence of Maui’s spirit. A trip never forgotten only shared!

Maui - Discovering the Hidden Charm of Lahaina, Maui

Nestled on the sun-kissed west coast of Maui, Lahaina is a treasure trove of Hawaiian history, culture, and stunning coastal beauty. Often overshadowed by the island’s more famous resorts, Lahaina offers a perfect blend of authentic local life and breathtaking beaches.

A Walk Through History
Lahaina isn’t just a beach town—it’s a living museum. Once the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom and a bustling whaling village, its streets are lined with charming historic buildings, art galleries, and local shops. Strolling down Front Street, you can almost hear the whispers of centuries past mixed with the chatter of today’s visitors.

Sun, Sand, and Serenity
While the town itself is rich in culture, the beaches around Lahaina are where nature truly steals the show. From the calm, shallow waters of Baby Beach to the more expansive sands near Lahaina Harbor, each spot has its own character:

Baby Beach (Puunoa Beach) – Ideal for families, this protected cove offers gentle waters perfect for kids to splash around safely.

Lahaina Harbor Shores – A quieter, lesser-known stretch where you can watch fishing boats drift lazily by and soak in incredible sunsets.

Nearby Kaanapali Beach – For those seeking luxury resorts, full-service amenities, and endless ocean activities, this world-famous stretch is just a short drive north.

Pro tip: Early mornings here offer serene waves and soft, golden light perfect for photography, yoga, or a peaceful stroll.

Activities Beyond the Shore
Lahaina’s beaches are just the beginning. Snorkeling, paddleboarding, and whale-watching tours abound, especially during the winter months when humpback whales migrate through the Hawaiian waters. Don’t miss a sunset sail—watching the horizon glow in pinks and oranges while the island’s silhouette shimmers is a memory that lasts a lifetime.

Where to Eat & Drink
After a day on the sand, indulge in the local flavors: fresh poke bowls, tropical fruit smoothies, or a perfectly grilled tuna at one of Lahaina’s many seaside eateries. For cocktails with a view, the harborside bars offer a relaxed vibe and the kind of sunset views postcards are made for.

Travel Tips
Check beach access: Some shoreline areas are under restoration or have restrictions due to recent events, so verify current open beaches before visiting.
Reef-safe sunscreen: Protect yourself and Hawaii’s delicate coral reefs.
Go early: Morning visits offer calmer waters and fewer crowds.

Why Lahaina?
Because it’s where Hawaii’s history meets its natural beauty, where vibrant culture meets tranquil beaches. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, Lahaina is the perfect gateway to experiencing Maui beyond the typical tourist path.

Mr Moorhead’s Blueberry 🫐 Farm was my transformative introduction to the liberating world of independence. Being dropped off in the summertime in the second grade ignited a spark within me, propelling me to discover my untapped potential and grasp the invaluable essence of hard work on a farm. Residing in trailers out on the farm, my inaugural summer was a hands-on learning experience where I picked blueberries and meticulously placed them in the white buckets, earning payment for every bucket I filled to the brim. By the time the second summer arrived, I had earned a well-deserved promotion to drive the tractor and collect the buckets 🪣, bringing them back to be weighed. This marked the first time I recall mustering the courage to hunt for my dinner and cooking it up, relishing the fruits of my labor. It was also the first time I drove a truck 🛻, overcoming the challenges of reaching the pedals and steering simultaneously. As I navigated the scorching Texas heat waves, my world expanded, and I developed a profound appreciation for the tireless efforts invested in producing a product worthy of sale. These experiences profoundly impacted me, empowering me to thrive as I embarked on a new journey to San Francisco, leaving the familiarity of Texas behind. Departing from the comforts of Kingwood, I eagerly embraced the adventures awaiting me in California, carrying with me the resilience and determination forged on the farm in Conroe Texas.

Little Italy 🇮🇹 is an extraordinary destination that I always make a point to visit for a dose of inspiration, indulging in lunchtime Italian cuisine and rich culture before continuing on to Chinatown for a unique shopping experience. A historic neighborhood celebrated for its vibrant Italian American culture, iconic landmarks like Mulberry Street, and renowned restaurants and bakeries that uplift and inspire. The authentic New York pizza, freshly baked bread 🥖 and delectable pasta 🍝 dishes surpass any Italian cuisine you've ever encountered. You'll understand why it's acclaimed worldwide, leaving a profound impression on all who take the time to visit and savor its delights. There's no place quite like Little Italy 🇮🇹. Warning don’t jump in a game of Chinese Backgammon because you will for sure loss. At least the mob boss behind the two way mirror came out to shake my hand on my way out. He said kid here’s a $100 .. I never met someone like you!

Travel Diary: Kraków, Poland – 🇵🇱
A Lesson in Street Smarts

I had always heard about organized crime and corruption in parts of Eastern Europe, but it wasn’t until I visited that I experienced it firsthand. While there have been high-profile corruption scandals involving government officials and even court personnel in Kraków, I learned that sometimes the real stories happen quietly, on the streets.

We had traveled by train from Warsaw to Kraków, enjoying a comfortable ride and great impressions of Warsaw’s friendly atmosphere. Kraków, however, offered a different kind of adventure.

One evening, as we got off the tram and started walking back to our hotel, three men in plain clothes approached us. They claimed to be police officers and ordered us to follow them down a dark alley. Instantly, all three of us looked at each other and said, *“No way!”* There was no chance we were going anywhere secluded with strangers.

The men insisted we pay a fine—$500, to be exact—claiming we had broken a local ordinance. Yes, we had been drinking earlier with a group of Irish tourists, but we were far from drunk. It quickly became clear they were targeting us because we were Americans, speaking English, and staying in Kraków for an extended time.

Moments later, one of the men called in a uniformed officer in a marked police car. That made the situation even more confusing. The officer continued to pressure us for money, repeating the same claims. What they didn’t realize was that I was traveling with two Polish-Americans who spoke the language fluently and had family in Poland. They listened carefully as the men justified their demands by saying that Americans make much more money, while they “only make twelve dollars a month.”

Trying to keep calm, I pulled the uniformed officer aside and showed him my camera filled with photos of Poland’s beauty—Warsaw’s streets, Kraków’s squares, and all the good memories I had captured. I told him I would go home and share those positive stories about Poland, so it was best not to make me pay him. Surprisingly, he paused, then nodded—and let us go.

Just as we began walking away, one of my friends, Jo, couldn’t hold back her anger. She turned to them and shouted in Polish, calling them a disgrace to their country and saying that people like them give Poland a bad name. That was all it took. Before we could blink, they arrested us.

We spent the night in custody, frustrated and embarrassed. Jo eventually bailed us out, but the lesson was clear: we weren’t in America, and the rules—and risks—were very different here.

Looking back, I understood her outburst. Jo had invited us to Poland to show off its history, beauty, and hospitality. Instead, we had run into a moment that revealed both the country’s struggles and its complexity.

**Lesson learned:** if someone claims to be the police, ask for a badge, a uniform, and documentation. Never hand over money, no matter the pressure. Sometimes, the best souvenir from a trip is the story that reminds you to stay aware and resilient.
