Calvin and Tracy's epic adventure in Northwest Ontario continues today. 32-Miles round trip by snowmobile to get the Lake they are fishing. They are catching Massive perch and plenty of walleye and pike at Anderson's Manitou Falls Camp near Ear Falls Ontario. Calvin's smile says it all! And....this is the camp where my Dad (Jack Grosvenor) guided when I was a kid in the early 70's.

Calvin Grosvenor 's ice season on Okoboji may be over....but he missed it so much....he's traveled 700-miles north to Manitou Falls Camp near Ear Falls Ontario. This is the camp that my dad worked at when I was at kid in the early 70s. The snow is deep right now...and there are a lot of slush pockets to navigate. The Otter Outdoors shelter and Striker gear are keeping him warm. Big thanks to Lily Tracy Bainbridge for bringing him up. And thanks to Mike Michael Anderson for giving him a place to stay.

PERCH LIVES MATTER. Most of Spirit Lake is Ice Free. I can't help but think of the number of perch lives that are being saved from ice anglers with the early ice exit. There is still some ice....but with this wind I don't anticipate it lasting long.

HOLY BIG FISH!! 9-YEAR-OLD Marshall just landed the biggest fish of his young life!!!! Of course its Calvin Grosvenor with the assist. Marshall came running to the shack to tell everyone his flag was up. By the time we got there the big pike had all the line out.....and it was just holding on by the knott. Luckily we were just in time and Marshall landed and released the pike.

MEGA OKOBOJI MUSKY SURPRISE AND RELEASE!! Mike from Guthrie Center landed this giant on Okoboji today. He was fishing with Okoboji Guides John and Calvin Grosvenor using tip-ups and chubs for pike. Muskies are out of season so it was a quick photo and release. She measured about 47-inches. GREAT WORK MIKE!

MIRACLE ON ICE!!! Curt's day started off BAD. Very Bad. He dropped his phone and Wallet through an 8-inch ice hole in 10-feet of Okoboji water. The water was not clear like it is normally. So Calvin ran and picked up two of our MarCum Technologies underwater cameras. After searching around the hole it fell through we had no luck. At the end of the day we gave it one last shot. BINGO! We located the phone/wallet. Calvin tied up a lure and after a few attempts brought it back up the hole to save the day.
