I get asked all the time how I got started as a travel advisor...

I always loved to travel but I always figured I would work in business or real estate. After college I worked for a year at Disney World, and then after having Bryn, and working my other job at a college at the time, my good friend Sarah (who I lived with when working at Disney) suggested I look into being a travel agent.

At first I mainly booked Disney because that’s what I knew best but I quickly fell in love with Mexico and the Caribbean—like really fell in love. The culture, the beaches, the food, the resorts… all of it. So I decided to fully shift my focus so I could become an expert in those destinations, that also meant switching to a Travel Agency who has the support, connections, and professionalism to allow my business to grow in whatever direction I choose.

Now I get to help people plan some of the most meaningful and memorable vacations of their lives. I am pretty grateful to be on this path and looking into adding some exciting destinations in 2026! 💛🌴✈️

🌮 🇲🇽 Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Today isn’t just about tacos and margaritas (though I love those things too!)-it’s a chance to recognize and celebrate Mexican culture, history, and resilience.

👉 Did you know: Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day (that’s September 16th). It actually commemorates the Battle of the Puebla that happened on May 5th, 1862 when a small, outnumbered Mexican army defeated the French forces. While it’s actually a minor holiday in Mexico, it’s become a big celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, especially in the U.S.

Happy Thursday! There are some new faces around here so thought I would share a few things with you so you can get to know me better!

Travel Tip Tuesday!

It’s so important to know what you are allowed and not allowed to bring into the country you are traveling to. 👉

‼️Mexico has customs rules that have been in existence for some time, and over the last few years, they have started enforcing these rules more than in the past. Some of the customs rules will not be relevant to you, but a few are REALLY important, and you must know about them (my reading my pre travel documents) or risk issues at the airport and paying taxes.

💻You are only allowed to bring 1 (one) computing device into Mexico, tax free, whether you are on vacation or living here. I have translated it from Spanish, but it reads “a portable computer of the so-called laptop, notebook, omni book or similar”.

💸This means, if you bring a laptop AND an iPad, and get searched you will have to pay tax/duty on one of them, depending on the value of the device. I do not work for Mexican customs, so I cannot provide more details on this, but I don’t believe a Kindle falls into this category as the only thing you can do on it is read, not compute.

🤷‍♀️ In 99% of cases, the person bringing a laptop and an iPad is doing so for work purposes, but customs agents have to assume that anyone doing so could be trying to sell one of the devices, hence the taxing.

Friend trips are the BEST trips, do you agree?! However there are so many more factors that come into play when planning for a group...

• Deciding a destination and resort

• Room categories for different styles and budgets

• Arranging transfers

• Advanced dining and excursion reservations

Client Review! Guys, THIS is why I do what I do...I absolutely love taking care of my clients every👏 single 👏step👏 of the way! 🫶

Let me preface this by saying we hardly ever travel, so thinking about planning an out of the country vacation causes this girl anxiety. I told Kelli what we were looking for in a resort and our vacation and she nailed it. We stayed at Coral level at Iberostar, and it exceeded our expectations. The resort was beautiful and the staff was amazing! Before we left, Kelli put together our travel itinerary. She included little tips like what to wear at the resort, reminders and suggestions of things to pack for the trip, tipping, reminders for the flight, etc. We didn’t have to worry about transportation to the resort. She texted me the day we arrived to ask how the flight went and made herself available if we needed anything or had any problems throughout our stay. We were going to meet a friend at Playa del Carmen. She offered to help arrange transportation. She continued to check in during the trip and sent reminders of what needed to be done prior to departure. Thanks to her, our vacation was stress free and all the logistics were taken care of. I highly recommend her services and she will definitely be our go to for future travels!
