I spent the last 5 days at Moon Palace the Grand in Cancun, Mexico with my 19-year-old daughter.
Moon Palace the Grand is the perfect choice for families of all ages! It features a water park with tube and mat slides, lazy river, Flowrider, wave pool, splash pad, and 2 water playgrounds, an awesome kids club, an arcade, bounce zone (seasonally), nightly family entertainment, karaoke bar, bowling alley ($), mini golf, fantastic a la carte restaurants, buffets, beautiful spa, 27 hole golf course on site, adults only night club, hidden speakeasy, adults only pool club, and so much more! This resort even features arguably the coolest restaurant in the Mexican Caribbean, Circus. There is always something to do!
Guests staying at the Grand have access to the other 2 resorts on site, Sunrise & Nizuc, featuring even more restaurants, bars, pools, and entertainment.
The ocean conditions here are not the greatest with sargassum and murky water, but the beach is long with white powdery sand, perfect for walking and sand volleyball.
The service was impeccable, as is usually my experience in the Mexican Caribbean. The property is very large, but there are continuous golf carts available to take you around the resort.
We stayed in a basic level room - Grand Deluxe Garden View. It was a beautiful room that was well-appointed with everything we could want, including fully stocked bar and mini fridge, snacks, 24 complimentary room service, daily housekeeping and nightly turn down service.
Overall Moon Palace the Grand is an excellent choice for a family resort at a moderate price point. It’s located only 10-15 minutes from the Cancun airport, which is another huge plus.
