I had a wonderful final meeting with my colleagues on the Wisconsin Governor's IDEA Committee. We met at the offices of Visit Milwaukee and lunch at Kinship Café located in the Thrive Building on the historic Martin Luther King Jr Dr.
It's been an honor to serve on this committee with some amazing professionals from across the State. Thanks to my friends at Travel
Wisconsin for coordinating this important work year after year.

Making the most of life! We swung by Wequiock Falls today—no water falling, but still such a beautiful spot. The sun is shining, I’m with my family, and my heart is full. Life is good! “Travel means finding the right destination and moments like these along the way.” -Me

When I first had this “crazy idea” to start a receptive tour company, Cheyenne Landru was the very first person who came to mind to help me with this new endeavor.

Our friendship has always been the kind where time doesn’t matter—we can go months without seeing each other, then sit down and it feels like not a single day has passed. That’s the kind of trust and connection we’re building this business on.

We’re taking this journey slowly and intentionally, making sure every step reflects our values and brings authentic cultural experiences to life. I couldn’t be more grateful and excited for the path ahead.

✨ What a beautiful way to wrap up our Oneida tour!

A quick stop at Turtle Island Gifts 🐢 — a Native-owned shop where every item can carry a story and a connection to culture.
🕒 Hours: Monday–Friday 10AM–6PM | Saturday 10AM–4PM | Sunday CLOSED

Our group walked the gardens at Off The Trail, where food and culture come together in the most meaningful way. After the garden tour, our guests were treated to a true Indigenous culinary experience. Yaw^ko to Jamie & K**e! 💚💚

To make the moment even more special, Oneida Smoke Dancers shared a beautiful cultural demonstration.

At Good Words Travel, we’re proud to create journeys that honor Indigenous voices and showcase the beauty of our communities.

✨Tour Stop Spotlight✨

Our recent Good Words Travel tour made a stop at the beautiful Oneida Hotel—a true gem in our community. The ladies loved the welcoming staff, and all the amenities that make travel feel easy and comfortable.

But the highlight? Sharing a meal together at Cedar & Sage inside the hotel. Their Three Sisters Soup—of corn, beans, and squash—was a little taste of culture and tradition. 🌽🫘

This stop reminds us that where you stay is so important when you travel. A place should feed both your body and your spirit.

One of my favorite spots to walk and recharge is the Amelia Cornelius Cultural Site in Oneida. Every time, I’m in awe of the beauty — the longhouse, the Three Sisters garden (sister corn is so beautiful and tall), the medicine plants, and the historic log cabins all tell such a powerful story. 🌿✨

This is a free experience and perfect for a self-guided tour if you’re passing through.

For an even deeper dive, you can:
• Book with me at Good Words Travel (link in bio)
• Or contact Oneida Tourism for a guided, hands-on experience at exploreoneida.com

You don’t always have to travel far to see the beauty right here on the land our stories come from.

🌿 What a beautiful day with Oneida Tourism.

At the Amelia Cornelius Cultural Site we stepped into history with the life-size replica longhouse, learned from the Three Sisters and medicinal gardens, and stood before the original Salt Pork Ave log cabins. Yaw^ko to iur amazing tour guide, Leah Stroobants 🫶🏾

We even got to see the buffalo - a reminder of resilience and connection to the land.

These experiences are living stories of the Oneida Nation, and I’m honored to help bring them to you.

Yaw^ko ki wah (Big thanks) to Insight Publications and Amelia Wolf Compton for this interview — perfect timing since I just wrapped my very first official Good Words Travel cultural heritage tour of Native Nations in Wisconsin! 🎉

Amanda and I spoke about how Indigenous tourism is connecting people to place, and why a good story can take you further than any tour bus.

Indigenous people are taking back the narrative, and telling our own stories. When that happens, look out! That means the traveler get the real history of our people and a truly authentic experience.

When you book with me, you get very exclusive, behind-the-scenes access you simply won’t find anywhere else.

Now booking fall trips — small groups, custom itineraries, zero boring cookie-cutter tours. Let’s make your travel story one worth telling. 🌿✈️
