𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐚𝐭 𝟓:𝟐𝟎 𝐩𝐦: The Blue Angels buzzed from Navarre through Pensacola Beach and all the way west to the Gulf State Park Pier. They made their final turn at approximately 5:16pm. 🙏

𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐚𝐭 𝟒:𝟑𝟔 𝐩𝐦: Fat Albert is taxiing on the runway. If we get a Beach Buzz it would be somewhere around 5:15 to 5:45ish.

𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐚𝐭 𝟒:𝟎𝟓𝐩𝐦: We were expecting Fat Albert to take off from Jacksonville, FL around 3:15, but that hasn’t happened as of this update.

We’re going to push our timing estimate back to between 5:15 and 6:15pm.

We will publish another update as soon as we see Fat Albert take off.

𝗢𝗕𝗔 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁: The Blue Angels are flying home today from the Jacksonville Air Show. We should see them in our area this afternoon between 4:15 and 5:15pm.

We will update this post as soon as we have additional information.

As always, we never know their flight plan or if they'll give us a Beach Buzz and if they do, what beaches they’ll buzz. Sometimes they’ll turn to land before reaching Perdido Key. Other times they will Buzz the Beaches all the way to Gulf Shores.

Thanks to everyone who's out watching for the Blue Angels from Navarre and Pensacola Beach for posting updates here in the comments when you see them coming. It really helps.

A little history for ya…

Something cool . in 1947! West Beach was nonexistent. Hwy 59 was called Hwy 3, and the Community Hut wouldn't be called the Hangout for another 22 years 🙃. See the green arrow! “Jo” was Clyde Weir’s mother. In 1956 Clyde and his mother created what is now Souvenir City. 🦈. History.

It’s a sad day for our Gulf Coast…

The Flora-Bama’s founding father, Joe Gilchrist, has gone home to be with his Creator. Joe was born on April 17, 1942 and went home on May 25, 2022 at the age of 80. Joe built a legacy and culture around treating others with kindness and respect, asking only for the same in return. Given the opportunity to take over the Flora-Bama by the Tampary family in 1978, Joe’s love for other human beings started, and he built a party and celebration of life that will go on forever. Joe was a philanthropist, a community leader, and an unwavering and untiring supporter of the U.S. Military and his country. He would be proud to remind everyone that Memorial Day is a time dedicated to remembering and honoring those that have fought and died for our country. Joe created the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival which brought together artists of all kinds and funded musical programs for local youth. His love of songwriters and music would earn him the title “Patron Saint of Songwriters”. We love you Joe and thank you for making all of our lives better, and for the selfless way you lived your life.

Out of respect for the family and to give us time to plan what will surely be a special celebration of life, please give us time to put out further details at a later date.
